<p>About Us </p><p>Active Power Investments (API) is a dynamic power trading firm focused on innovation, integrity, and operational excellence. We’re scaling rapidly and building a strong internal foundation of technology and talent. We’re looking for a capable Intermediate Systems Administrator who can support and optimize our growing IT infrastructure. </p><p>Role Overview </p><p>As an Intermediate Systems Administrator, you’ll be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing core IT systems, user support, and infrastructure components. You will play a key role in ensuring the security, availability, and performance of internal systems, while also contributing to automation, upgrades, and ongoing tech improvements. </p> <p>Key Responsibilities </p><ul><li>Administer and support Microsoft environment (Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Active Directory, etc.) </li></ul><ul><li>Recommend and implement security measures and enforce IT policies (e.g., MFA, antivirus, data protection) </li></ul><ul><li>Support and expand, our on-prem VMWare environment </li></ul><ul><li>Proactively monitor system performance, perform routine maintenance, and respond to incidents </li></ul><ul><li>Recommend process improvement and automation initiatives </li></ul><ul><li>Set up and maintain user accounts, hardware, and software across endpoints </li></ul><ul><li>Manage backups, disaster recovery procedures, and patching schedules </li></ul><ul><li>Support network configuration and troubleshoot connectivity issues </li></ul><ul><li>Assist in onboarding/offboarding processes, ensuring smooth device and access setup </li></ul><ul><li>Work with vendors and service providers as needed </li></ul><ul><li>Document systems, procedures, and change logs for internal use </li></ul><p>Requirements </p><ul><li>3–5 years of experience in a Systems Administrator or IT Support role </li></ul><ul><li>Proficiency securing IT infrastructure from external and internal attacks </li></ul><ul><li>Proficiency with [Windows Server, Azure, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, VMWare, etc.] </li></ul><ul><li>Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, OS, and network layers </li></ul><ul><li>Familiarity with scripting or automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) </li></ul><ul><li>Understanding of IT security best practices </li></ul><ul><li>Strong communication and documentation skills </li></ul><ul><li>Ability to manage competing priorities and respond quickly to issues </li></ul><ul><li>Confident working in a time-sensitive environment  </li></ul><p>Nice to Have </p><ul><li>Experience working in a finance or similar trading environment </li></ul><ul><li>Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS) </li></ul><ul><li>Familiarity with virtualization (e.g., Hyper-V, VMware) </li></ul><ul><li>Exposure to compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001) </li></ul><ul><li>Comfort working in a lean or startup-style environment </li></ul> <p>What We Offer </p><ul><li>Competitive compensation </li></ul><ul><li>Growth opportunities in a fast-paced, impact-driven environment </li></ul><ul><li>Exposure to the energy and trading industries </li></ul><ul><li>Flexible work arrangements </li></ul><ul><li>A collaborative and supportive team culture </li></ul>
