We work directly with different industries including Automotive, Energy, Aeronautics, Banking & Insurance, Telecom & Multimedia, and Rail; offering services ranging from project design development to test/validation, programming, implementation, and manufacturing. </p><p></p><p>ALTEN Mexico as a subsidiary of the ALTEN Group is currently working with international clients, and we are looking for a Mechanical Engineer Sr who will contribute to the development of an Iron Air Battery, a large-scale energy storage solution, as mechanical DFX lead for cost, manufacturability, design integration, and technical delivery.</p><p></p><p>📍 Location: Remote<br /> 🕒 Experience Level: 5+ years<br /> 🌐 English: B2–C1<br /> </p><p> </p>Key Responsibilities <ul><li>Lead mechanical work packages and allocate activities across the mechanical team.</li><li>Develop and review redesign concepts for pack structures, roof/base skid, cell hardware, piping, fittings, scrubber vessel, and sustaining issues.</li><li>Drive design reviews, problem resolution, supplier DFM discussions, and cross-functional decisions.</li><li>Ensure designs maintain critical interfaces and backward compatibility where required.</li><li>Review CAD, drawings, GD&T, tolerance analyses, BOMs, cost estimates, and validation plans.</li><li>Coordinate FEA, CFD, plastics, materials, electrical, manufacturing, and sourcing inputs.</li></ul> Must‑Have Qualifications <ul><li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering or related fields.</li><li>7+ years of mechanical product-development experience, including technical ownership of complex assemblies.</li><li>Experience in product design from concept through detailed design, verification, release, and production support.</li><li>Working knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, DFM/DFA, DFMEA, and engineering change control.</li><li>Ability to communicate technical tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations across design, manufacturing, analysis, suppliers, and customers.</li><li>Advanced SolidWorks capability for parts, assemblies, drawings, configurations, and design changes; experience with PLM/PDM and formal release processes.</li><li>Demonstrated cost-reduction, supplier collaboration, and technical-leadership experience.</li><li>Ability to combine CAD, CAE results, supplier feedback, validation planning, and cost data into design decisions.</li><li>Experience with structures, sheet metal, welded assemblies, piping, fittings, plastics, tolerance analysis, and mechanical interfaces.</li></ul><p></p><p>English level B2–C1.</p><p> </p>Preferred Skills <p>Industry Knowledge:</p><ul><li>Experience in energy storage systems (e.g., batteries, iron-air technology).</li></ul><ul><li>Familiarity with large-scale mechanical or industrial projects.</li></ul><p>Software and Tools:</p><ul><li>Experience with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems (e.g., TeamCenter, Windchill).</li></ul><p>Innovation and Optimization:</p><ul><li>Experience in design optimization (e.g., topology optimization, weight reduction).</li><li>Knowledge of sustainable and eco-friendly design practices.</li></ul><p>Manufacturing and Materials:</p><ul><li>Understanding of advanced manufacturing processes (e.g., additive manufacturing, CNC machining).</li><li>Knowledge of material selection for extreme environments (e.g., corrosion resistance, high-temperature materials).</li></ul><p> </p>Soft Skills <ul><li>Strong communication and cross‑functional collaboration.</li><li>Technical leadership and decision‑making capability.</li><li>Problem‑solving and analytical thinking.</li><li>Time management and ability to operate under tight deadlines.</li><li>Detail‑oriented mindset with strong documentation discipline.</li><li>Supplier coordination and negotiation skills.</li><li>Continuous improvement and robust design focus.</li></ul><p> </p><p></p> <ul><li> Competitive salary </li><li> Benefits above those required by law </li><li> Career growth and development plan </li><li> Remote work scheme</li></ul>
