<p>Description</p><p><strong>Summary/objective:</strong></p><p>The Wingfeather Saga Animated Series at Angel Studios is looking for a CG Character Animator who is passionate, collaborative, and able to create high-quality character animation. This person will work with a variety of CG assets within Unreal Engine.</p><p>The CG Character Animator will work with rigged characters and props to advance assigned shots through animation and will report directly to the Animation Director.</p><p><strong>Essential functions</strong></p><ul><li>Character Animation</li><li>Create impactful & compelling performances</li><li>Match the show animation style</li><li>React and accommodate notes and revisions</li><li>Deliver footage quantity at or exceeding scheduled quota</li><li>All other responsibilities assigned by Animation Director and Animation Coordinator</li><li>Must attend and contribute to regularly scheduled staff meetings.</li><li>Proficiency in speaking, reading and writing in the English language required. Additional language proficiency is a plus. </li></ul><p><em>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.</em></p><p>Requirements</p><p><strong>Competencies</strong></p><ul><li>Demonstrated proficiency with the principles of animation, including timing and the dynamics of animals and human figures in action</li><li>Ability to present work and communicate openly with artistic and studio leadership</li><li>On-the-fly problem-solving ability with fellow animators</li><li>Where applicable contribute to rig testing and character movement exploration</li><li>Strong knowledge of each of the following technical areas: <ul> <li>Animation principles</li> <li>Knowledge of kinematics and physical behaviors</li> <li>File management systems</li> </ul></li><li>An exceptional listener with excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Proficiency with Google Workspace.</li><li>Detail-oriented perspective and able to pick up on overlooked details.</li><li>Organization and time management. </li><li>Able to maintain confidentiality of information.</li><li>Must be able to manage multiple assignments, set priorities, and adapt to changing conditions.</li><li>Resourceful and able to problem-solve and manage tasks with ambiguity. </li><li>Willing to perform an array of tasks both in and out of the office.</li><li>Can take feedback to tasks and assignments positively and create better solutions.</li><li>A quick study, able to pick up new skills and learn how to use new programs.</li><li>Must participate in setting and achieving regularly scheduled and outlined objectives. </li><li>Self-driven and highly motivated to deliver best-in-class solutions with minimal guidance.</li><li>Recognize when you're wrong, learning from your mistakes and moving past them.</li><li>Ability to take individual ownership, execute with high energy, share context, insist on candor with positive intent.</li></ul><p><strong>Work environment - </strong>When in the main office, expect a comfortable, air-conditioned work environment. Team members are issued their own desks, but the office is an open, shared space and can be fast-paced and occasionally noisy.</p><p><strong>Physical demands - </strong>Ability to sit at desk and use computer for prolonged periods of time</p><p><strong>Position type and expected hours of work - </strong>Regular full-time, 40 hours per week.</p><p><strong>Preferred education and experience</strong></p><ul><li>Self-starter</li><li>Animation production experience, particularly with animated TV series</li><li>Bachelor's Degree preferred</li><li>Tennessee resident a plus.
