This individual will split time between hands-on engineering and technical leadership — mentoring a team of engineers while driving enterprise-wide modernization initiatives across hybrid AWS and Azure environments. The ideal candidate combines deep site reliability engineering (SRE) expertise, a security-first architectural mindset, and fluency in modern automation and AI-enabled engineering practices. </p><p>Requirements</p><p><strong>Roles & Responsibilities:</strong> </p><p><u>Technical Leadership & Team Management </u></p><ul><li>Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers, setting technical direction, conducting code reviews, and supporting career development. </li><li>Serve as a hands-on individual contributor while overseeing sprint planning, technical roadmaps, and engineering best practices. </li><li>Partner with product, architecture, and security stakeholders to align engineering execution with business objectives.</li></ul><p><u>Modernization & Transformation </u></p><ul><li>Drive large-scale application and infrastructure modernization initiatives, migrating legacy systems to cloud-native, scalable architectures. </li><li>Define and execute multi-year technology transformation roadmaps spanning re-platforming, re-architecture, and cloud migration. </li><li>Evaluate legacy systems and recommend modernization strategies that balance risk, cost, and business continuity. </li></ul><p><u>Site Reliability Engineering </u></p><ul><li>Own reliability engineering practices including SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, incident response, on-call rotations, and constructive after-action plans </li><li>Design for high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery across distributed, multi-cloud systems. </li><li>Build observability and monitoring capabilities to proactively identify and resolve system risks. </li></ul><p><u>Cloud, Automation & AI </u></p><ul><li>Architect and implement solutions across AWS and Azure, including multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud environments. </li><li>Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines using Terraform, Ansible, and GitHub Actions. </li><li>Champion adoption of AI-assisted engineering tools and practices to improve developer productivity and operational efficiency. </li><li>Automate manual operational processes to reduce toil and improve system reliability. </li></ul><p><u>Security-Driven Architecture </u></p><ul><li>Embed security-by-design principles into architecture and development of lifecycles. </li><li>Conduct and act on static/dynamic application security testing using tools such as Veracode. </li><li>Ensure compliance with organizational security, governance, and risk management standards across cloud and on-premises environments. </li></ul><p><strong>Required Professional Skills:</strong> </p><ul><li>8+ years of professional software/systems engineering experience, including experience in a technical team lead capacity. </li><li>Demonstrated success leading large-scale modernization/transformation programs. </li><li>Strong background in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices and principles. </li><li>Hands-on expertise across AWS and Azure, including multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud architecture and design. </li><li>Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code and automation tools: Terraform and Ansible. </li><li>Experience building CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions. </li><li>Familiarity with application security testing tools such as Veracode, and security-driven architecture practices. </li><li>Strong scripting/automation skills (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell). </li><li>Excellent communication, mentorship, and stakeholder management skills. </li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Professional Skills:</strong> </p><ul><li>Relevant certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or equivalent. </li><li>Experience integrating AI/ML tooling into engineering workflows or platform capabilities. </li><li>Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). </li><li>Experience with observability platforms (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk). </li><li>Background in regulated or enterprise environments with formal change management and compliance
