If you’re looking to do work that matters, we’d love to hear from you.</p></div><div> <div><u><strong>About the Position:</strong></u></div> <div> <div> </div> <div> <p>The Associate Director, Scientific Communications plays an integral and hands-on role in supporting Edgewise Therapeutics’ ongoing development programs. This position resides within Medical Affairs and will be responsible for the strategic planning and execution of scientific communication tactics, including medical communication and education initiatives, congress support, and scientific training materials with responsibility for translating disease-state knowledge, emerging clinical data, and the scientific narrative into high-quality resources for healthcare professionals, external experts, field medical teams, and internal stakeholders. </p> <p>The Associate Director also supports the publication plan, including abstracts, posters, presentations, and manuscripts, ensuring that scientific communications are aligned across channels and executed in accordance with applicable guidelines and company processes. The ideal candidate combines scientific acumen, excellent medical writing and editing skills, sound judgment, the ability to work with rapidly changing priorities, and strong cross-functional and project leadership. This is an individual-contributor role with agency-management responsibilities. The Associate Director of Scientific Communications reports to the Executive Director, Medical Strategy & Scientific Communications. </p> </div> <div> <div><strong><u>Essential Job Duties and Functions:</u></strong></div> <div> <ul> <li> <ul> <li>Translate complex scientific and clinical information into clear, accurate, audience-appropriate content while preserving scientific nuance and appropriate data context.</li> <li>Support development and maintenance of the scientific platform, core scientific narrative, lexicon, and related content standards to promote consistency across Medical Affairs channels.</li> <li>Oversee development of scientific content and support for scientific communications activities such as internal scientific trainings, advisory boards, medical booth content, field-based medicine resources, and scientific platforms; ensure all materials undergo the appropriate medical content approval process. </li> <li>Contribute to and implement strategic communication plans including multi-year publication plans to support clinical trials, regulatory submissions and product launches. </li> <li>Provide oversight and hands-on management of writing projects including but not limited to manuscripts, abstracts, posters, presentations, and publication extenders. This involves guiding projects from planning to submission, ensuring adherence to timelines, industry guidelines and company processes. </li> <li>Coordinate author and cross-functional review, resolve comments, maintain timelines, and ensure adherence to Good Publication Practice, authorship standards, congress requirements, and internal processes.</li> <li>Identify educational needs and content gaps in partnership with Field Medical, Clinical Development, Medical Information, and other stakeholders; incorporate insights into communication plans and materials.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Build effective partnerships with internal stakeholders, including Medical Affairs, Field Medical, Clinical Development, Regulatory, Legal, and cross-functional members of publication teams. </li> <li>Apply effective project management skills to ensure timely completion of high-quality deliverables within budget. Build and maintain project timelines, communicate project status to stakeholders and anticipate and mitigate risks to timely delivery. </li> </ul> <ul> <li>Coordinate and review, approval, and other applicable activities related to the development of scientific communication projects. </li> </ul> <ul> <li>Mange relationships with external medical communications agency service providers. </li> </ul> <ul> <li>Guide materials through applicable medical, legal, regulatory, and compliance review processes; ensure claims and scientific statements are accurate, appropriately referenced, and supported by available evidence.</li> <li>Implement, adhere to, and share knowledge of good publication practices and authorship criteria and requirements. </li> <li>Develop detailed project plans, communicate status and decisions, anticipate risks, and drive timely delivery of high-quality work across multiple concurrent priorities.</li> <li>Contribute to annual and long-range Medical Affairs planning, budget development, congress planning, and continuous improvement of scientific communications processes and standards.</li> <li>Maintain current knowledge of the therapeutic landscape, relevant scientific literature, evolving communication practices, and applicable industry standards.</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <div> </div> </div> <div> <div><strong><u>Required Education, Experience and Skills:</u></strong></div> <ul> <li>Advanced degree in life science, pharmacy, medicine, or related field (e.g., MS, PhD, PharmD, MD), or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.</li> <li>Min. 8+ years experience with a M.S. and/or Min. 5+ years experience with a PhD</li> <li>At least 5 years of relevant experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry, a medical communications or medical education agency, or a comparable scientific communications environment.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience developing medical education, scientific communications, and medical content for healthcare professionals and internal audiences.</li> <li>Experience leading the development of abstracts, posters, presentations, and/or manuscripts and working knowledge of current publication and authorship standards, including GPP and ICMJE.</li> <li>Excellent medical writing, editing, data-interpretation, and oral communication skills, with the ability to make complex science clear</li> <li>Strong project leadership, organization, and stakeholder-management skills, including experience managing agencies and multiple deliverables under tight timelines.</li> <li>Sound judgment and a working understanding of the legal, regulatory, and compliance considerations relevant to pre-approval and nonpromotional scientific communications.</li> <li>Therapeutic-area experience in cardiovascular disease, including cardiomyopathy and/or heart failure.</li> <li>Experience in a small or mid-sized biotechnology company and comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting timelines.</li> <li>Experience with scientific platforms, field medical content, congress medical activities, digital medical education, and/or medical information content.</li> <li>Experience with publication management, content management, or review systems (e.g., PubsHub, Datavision, Veeva MedComms, Veeva CRM).</li> <li>Experience supporting health economics and outcomes research communications or plain-language scientific communication.</li> <li>CMPP certification</li> <li>This position does not initially have direct reports. The Associate Director is expected to provide matrix leadership, direct agency partners, and coach or guide colleagues and contributors as appropriate.</li> <li>This is a full-time, remote position.
