We believe strong talent can be found anywhere and deserves the opportunity to contribute to high-impact work from anywhere in the world.</p><p>For this position, HireHawk is recruiting on behalf of a U.S.-based employment law firm focused on identifying and supporting potential plaintiffs in employment and labor law matters.</p><p>As an Accounting Specialist, you will support the day-to-day financial operations of a busy U.S. law firm. You will take ownership of accurate bookkeeping, reconciliations, transaction processing, reporting, and month-end support using QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.</p><p>This is a hands-on individual contributor role for someone who enjoys accurate execution and independent ownership rather than management or CFO-level responsibilities. You will handle confidential financial information, identify discrepancies before they become larger issues, and help the firm maintain reliable financial records in a high-volume environment.</p><p>Responsibilities</p><ul><li> Maintain complete and accurate financial records across the firm’s IOLTA trust accounts and business operating accounts. </li><li> Protect client funds by processing trust transactions carefully and keeping IOLTA records current, accurate, and fully traceable. </li><li> Reconcile bank, trust, operating, and accounting records, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly. </li><li> Process deposits, disbursements, transfers, invoices, expenses, and other financial transactions with close attention to supporting documentation. </li><li> Keep QuickBooks organized and up to date so the firm has dependable financial information available when needed. </li><li> Prepare recurring financial, reconciliation, and transaction reports using QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel. </li><li> Support month-end accounting activities by reviewing balances, organizing records, and completing required reconciliations. </li><li> Communicate clearly with legal and operational team members when information, approvals, or corrections are needed. </li><li> Identify unusual activity, missing documentation, or potential accounting issues and raise them proactively. </li><li> Maintain strict confidentiality when handling client funds, financial records, settlement-related information, and internal business data.</li></ul> <p>Must-Have:</p><ul><li> Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or completed accounting coursework. </li><li> Previous hands-on accounting or bookkeeping experience within a U.S. law firm. </li><li> Demonstrated experience managing both IOLTA trust accounts and business operating accounts. </li><li> Advanced QuickBooks proficiency, including the ability to work efficiently with transactions, reconciliations, reports, and account records. </li><li> Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, reconciliations, data organization, and financial reporting. </li><li> Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish, with clear written and verbal communication skills. </li><li> Strong accounting fundamentals and the ability to learn new workflows quickly, manage competing priorities, work independently, and maintain accuracy and confidentiality in a busy legal environment. </li></ul><p>Nice to Have:</p><ul><li> Accounting experience within a personal injury law firm. </li><li> Experience supporting month-end closing activities for a legal practice. </li><li> Familiarity with settlement-related transactions, client ledgers, or personal injury case accounting. </li><li> Experience improving bookkeeping, reconciliation, or financial reporting processes.</li></ul> <ul><li>Access to a $200K+ perk marketplace with discounts on 150+ global services.</li><li>Option to withdraw up to 50% of approved earnings before payday.</li></ul>
