<h2>Overview</h2> <p>The <strong>National Director of Legal Records Management and Information Governance</strong> is responsible for establishing, leading, and continuously improving IST Management’s enterprise-wide records management and information governance strategy, policies, standards, and operations. IST Management has also been included in the INC 5000 list!</p> <p> </p> <p>You can check out istmanagement.com for more info on us!</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><strong>This is a remote position based in the United States.</strong> Occasional travel, including air travel, may take place - up to 10% a year. </p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Compensation</strong> for this role will be based upon relevant experience and performance during the interview process, and may range from $125,000.00 - $250,000.00, plus benefits. </p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Benefits</strong> include accrued paid time off, medical, dental, vision, 401K, LTD/STD, identity theft, parental leave, pet coverage, 7 paid holidays, and bonus incentives.</p> <h2>Responsibilities</h2> <ul> <li>Develop and lead IST Management’s enterprise-wide Information Governance and Legal Records Management strategy, policies, standards, and processes.</li> <li>Establish and oversee information lifecycle practices, including data classification, metadata, retention, legal holds, disposition, defensible deletion, and management of structured and unstructured information.</li> <li>Lead the modernization of records and information governance through technology, automation, data migration, and integration with enterprise systems.</li> <li>Evaluate and implement technologies that improve information visibility, security, compliance, retention, and control.</li> <li>Partner with all departments to ensure information is managed securely and in accordance with legal, regulatory, and client requirements.</li> <li>Provide subject-matter expertise on legal records management, information governance, eDiscovery, data migrations, and other information-related initiatives.</li> <li>Establish retention schedules, governance controls, audit processes, and defensible disposition practices.</li> <li>Advise IST Management leadership and clients on information-related risks, governance requirements, and best practices.</li> <li>Lead training, change management, and adoption initiatives to promote consistent governance practices across the organization.</li> <li>Continuously assess and improve Information Governance and Legal Records Management processes, technology, and service delivery.</li> <li>Adherence to all company policies and procedures</li> </ul> <h2>Qualifications</h2> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree required; legal authorization to work for any employer in the US required; advanced degree in Information Governance, Records Management, Information Systems, Business, Law, or a related field preferred</li> <li>8+ years of progressive experience leading Information Governance, Legal Records Management, eDiscovery, Legal Technology, or related programs, including at least 5 years in a leadership role within a legal, litigation support, professional services, or highly regulated environment</li> <li>Deep knowledge of legal records management, information lifecycle management, retention, legal holds, disposition, data preservation, compliance, and related technologies, with the ability to leverage technology and AI to improve business and client outcomes</li> <li>Proven ability to develop and implement governance programs, policies, and technology solutions while managing vendors and cross-functional stakeholders</li> <li>Strong leadership, communication, risk assessment, change management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with leadership, legal professionals, technical teams, and clients</li> <li>Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and sound judgment</li> <li>Professional certifications such as IGP, CRM, CIPP, CISSP, CIGO, or equivalent preferred</li> <li>Ability to stand, sit, and view computer screen for extended periods of time</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p>This is a current and ongoing search for an open role.
