If you have a background in healthcare accounting and enjoy working with data, systems, and process improvement, this is a meaningful opportunity to make an impact.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>About the Role</strong></p><p><br/></p><p>As a Senior Accountant, you’ll partner closely with the CFO and Controller to support budgeting, regulatory reporting, and financial analysis. This role plays a key part in strengthening financial processes, ensuring reporting accuracy, and supporting compliance across a multi-entity healthcare environment.</p><p><br/></p><p>This opportunity is well-suited for a seasoned accounting professional with a strong foundation in healthcare finance, particularly within Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) environments.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Financial Planning & Reporting</strong></p><ul><li>Support the development and review of annual operating and capital budgets across multiple sites</li><li>Analyze financial trends and historical data to support planning and decision-making</li><li>Assist with preparation and validation of key financial reports, including the annual financial audit and Forms 990, 571-L, and Welfare Form Filings</li></ul><p><strong>Regulatory & Grant Reporting</strong></p><ul><li>Contribute to DHCS PPS Reconciliation Requests and Change in Scope of Service Requests (CSOSR), including variance analysis</li><li>Support annual Medicare Cost Report, UDS, and HCAI (OSHPD) financial reporting to ensure timely and accurate submission</li><li>Assist with financial components of grant reporting, including Service Area Competition and continuation reports</li></ul><p><strong>Analysis & Systems</strong></p><ul><li>Analyze financial and practice management system data to ensure accuracy and completeness</li><li>Investigate discrepancies and recommend improvements to reporting processes</li><li>Utilize advanced Excel skills to manage, analyze, and present financial data</li></ul><p><strong>Process Improvement & Team Support</strong></p><ul><li>Help standardize and document financial processes across multiple entities</li><li>Support cross-training efforts and development of training materials and staff</li><li>Serve as backup for monthly close and reconciliation processes</li></ul><p><strong>What Will Make You Successful</strong></p><ul><li>Thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and competing deadlines with confidence</li><li>Work independently while proactively seeking clarification to keep projects moving forward</li><li>Build strong working relationships across departments and effectively support and guide junior staff</li><li>Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, catching even minor discrepancies in financial data and reports</li><li>Bring advanced Excel expertise, including lookups, pivot tables, and index/match, with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize complex workbooks</li><li>Feel comfortable working with large, complex datasets and breaking them down for meaningful analysis</li><li>Create clean, user-friendly, and presentation-ready workbooks that support leadership decision-making</li></ul><p><strong>We Offer a Cadillac Benefits Package</strong></p><ul><li>Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance</li><li>Paid Time off (PTO) and 9 Paid Holidays</li><li>Life Insurance</li><li>401(k) with up to 4% Employer Match</li><li>Flexible Spending Account (FSA)</li></ul><p><strong>Why This Role Matters</strong></p><p><br/></p><p>This is more than an accounting role, it is an opportunity to influence how a mission-driven healthcare organization allocates resources, meets regulatory demands, and sustains growth. Your work will directly support MCHC’s ability to expand access to care and serve our communities with excellence.</p><p>Requirements</p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; or 5+years of relevant accounting experience</li><li>Experience supporting Medicare/Medicaid cost reports, HCAI (OSHPD), UDS, grant reporting, or other government financial reporting</li><li>Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions for analysis and reporting</li><li>Experience in healthcare accounting, with familiarity in regulatory reporting</li><li>Experience working with multiple entities and segments</li><li>Experience in developing and working with junior accounting staff</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) environment is strongly preferred</li><li>Experience with Abila MIP or similar accounting systems</li><li>Experience with Paylocity or similar payroll systems and associated reports</li><li>Familiarity with healthcare systems such as OCHIN Epic, NextGen, or eClinicalWorks</li></ul><p><br/></p>
