<p>&nbsp;</p> <h4><strong>Position Overview</strong></h4> <p>We are seeking an experienced <strong>Senior Fire Protection Designer</strong> to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in fire sprinkler system design, code compliance, hydraulic calculations, stock listing, and coordination with clients, engineers, and field personnel. This position requires a high degree of technical proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously from concept through completion.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h4><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h4> <ul> <li>Develop detailed fire sprinkler system designs and layout drawings using HydraCAD Software</li> <li>Perform hydraulic calculations and material take-offs in accordance with NFPA standards and local codes.</li> <li>Review architectural, structural, and mechanical plans to ensure proper system coordination.</li> <li>Prepare submittals, fabrication drawings, and as-built documentation.</li> <li>Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and field supervisors to ensure design intent and code compliance are achieved.</li> <li>Mentor junior designers and provide technical guidance as needed.</li> <li>Stay current with updates to fire protection codes and standards (NFPA, IBC, IFC, etc.).</li> <li>Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction).</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h4><strong>Qualifications</strong></h4> <ul> <li>Minimum <strong>5–10 years</strong> of experience in fire sprinkler or fire protection design.</li> <li>Proficiency in <strong>AutoCAD</strong>, <strong>HydraCAD</strong>, <strong>Navisworks</strong>, and/or <strong>Revit</strong>.</li> <li>In-depth knowledge of <strong>NFPA, FM Global, </strong>and other related standards.</li> <li>NICET Level III or IV in Water-Based Systems Layout (preferred).</li> <li>Strong understanding of building and fire codes.</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li> <li>Ability to work independently and manage multiple design projects.</li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion"><p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Join Us</strong></span><br>Mullins Mechanical ranked #243 on the 2024 ENR Top Specialty Contractors list, #48 in the Nation and #5 in the Southeast among Firms in Mechanical.
