We are a self-performing specialty contractor specializing in design-build applications, HVAC systems, plumbing, process piping systems, boiler and chiller systems, equipment installation and rigging, plant relocation and maintenance, and metal fabrication. </p> <p>We are looking for an experienced <strong>Fire Protection Estimator (Sprinkler & Suppression) </strong>to join our team.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p> <p>The <strong>Fire Protection Estimator</strong> will be responsible for providing complete estimates for bids on projects assigned.</p> <p><strong>Essential Functions:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Review all construction documents including instructions to bidders, scope of work and general conditions</li> <li>Ability to lay out Fire Protection Sprinkler and Suppression Systems in order to create an accurate bid takeoff</li> <li>Solicit subcontractor and vendor quotations to ensure coverage on all scopes of work if necessary</li> <li>Distribute plans, specifications, and addenda </li> <li>Assist in development of bid strategies</li> <li>Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits which may result in travel time on occasions</li> <li>Review take-off and pricing for completeness on all self-performed work</li> <li>Develop rough draft scope of work for proposals</li> <li>Assist in negotiating subcontracts and procurement of materials and equipment</li> <li>Enter estimate into job cost control program and participate in turnover/transition meetings with the execution & operations team</li> <li>Experience with Fire Protection industry standards, including shop fabrication</li> <li>Experience in providing budgets, estimates, construction schedules, and manpower projections</li> <li>Must be able to meet critical deadlines</li> <li>Work as part of a team and coordinate scope of work between in-house trades </li> <li>Performs other duties as assigned</li> </ul> <p><strong>Supervisory Responsibility: </strong>No</p> <p><strong>Required:</strong></p> <ul> <li>5+ years' experience in large Fire Protection Construction projects or equivalent combination of education and experience</li> <li>1-2+ years' Estimating/Pre-Construction experience</li> <li>Demonstrate knowledge and efficiency in Fire Protection Hydraulic Calculation Software</li> <li>General understanding of NFPA codes that relate to the Fire Protection industry.</li> <li>Understanding and capable of laying out Fire Protection Sprinkler & Suppression Systems</li> <li>Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills</li> <li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite</li> <li>Must be able to meet critical deadlines</li> <li>Must be a self-starter, able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, show attention to detail and demonstrate problem-solving skills</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong><u>Work Location</u></strong>: Remote/Hybrid</p> <p><strong><u>Salary:</u></strong> Compensation commensurate with experience.</p><div class="content-conclusion"><p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Join Us</strong></span><br>Mullins Mechanical ranked #243 on the 2024 ENR Top Specialty Contractors list, #48 in the Nation and #5 in the Southeast among Firms in Mechanical.
