Renesas is unable to sponsor applicants for work visas for this position now or in the future.  This includes anyone on F1/OPT visas. </strong></p><p><strong>Remote</strong> - must be in northeast US</p><p>We are seeking a highly skilled <strong>Senior Manager of Field Applications Engineering (FAE)</strong> with a background in Embedded Processing products to lead a high‑performance team supporting strategic customers in the northeast US and eastern Canada region.</p><p>This is a <strong>player–coach position</strong>: you will balance <strong>hands‑on technical ownership</strong> of key programs with <strong>strategic leadership</strong> of a growing team. You will drive customer success with Renesas’ embedded processing portfolio while developing and mentoring a team of embedded processing and analog & power FAEs.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><p><strong>Player Responsibilities (Hands‑On Technical Leadership)</strong></p><ul><li>Act as the lead technical interface for customers, providing exceptional support for Renesas’ MCU, MPU, and Connectivity products.</li><li>Partner closely with Sales to help define and implement the sales strategy for embedded processing products at assigned accounts from discovery through production.</li><li>Determine customer requirements and expectations and proactively recommend products, solutions, and services needed to develop their end user applications.</li><li>Help develop new business by collecting customer feedback and market trends to identify areas for product/solution improvement and new solutions.</li><li>Manage and drive issue escalations with internal engineering teams to ensure rapid, high-quality resolution.</li><li>Provide clear and actionable program updates to senior leadership.</li></ul><p><strong>Coach Responsibilities (People & Team Leadership)</strong></p><ul><li>Lead, mentor, and develop a team of FAEs supporting the full Renesas portfolio at strategic accounts.</li><li>Set role clarity, expectations, and technical development targets for each team member.</li><li>Guide resource allocation, balancing customer priorities with team bandwidth and skill set.</li><li>Conduct performance reviews, support career development, and establish a culture of accountability, collaboration, and technical rigor.</li></ul><p><strong>Internal Collaboration & Strategy</strong></p><ul><li>Collaborate with Product Line, Marketing, and Sales Enablement teams to provide customer-driven product feedback and influence future roadmaps.</li><li>Champion field insights related to next-generation embedded processing solutions.</li><li>Coordinate technical handoffs and shared engagements across global FAE teams.</li><li>Support the creation of technical content, training, and best practices shared across the broader FAE organization.</li></ul></div></section><section class="job-section" id="st-qualifications"><div><p class="googlejobs-paragraph--empty"></p><h2 class="title">Qualifications</h2></div><div class="wysiwyg spl-wysiwyg" itemprop="qualifications"><ul><li><strong>Applicants for this position must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Renesas is unable to sponsor applicants for work visas for this position now or in the future.  This includes anyone on F1/OPT visas. </strong></li><li>Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field. Master’s degree preferred.</li><li>8+ years of experience with ARM and/or proprietary MCU-based embedded processing design.</li><li>3+ years of people leadership experience (team lead, supervisor, manager, or equivalent player–coach role).</li><li>Strong proficiency in embedded processor project design and debug using development tools for RTOS and Linux-based embedded systems.</li><li>Good understanding of hardware design and schematic related to MCU.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to interface directly with customers on complex technical topics, supporting design engineers through project discovery, part selection, and solution implementation through production.</li><li>Excellent communication skills in English with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to varied audiences.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred qualifications: </strong></p><ul><li>Experience with Renesas MCU/MPU products or similar semiconductor products.</li><li>Experience with wireless connectivity products supporting BLE, Wi-FI, and NFC .</li><li>Experience in embedded AI/ML applications.</li><li>Proven success in developing early‑career engineers and building high‑performance technical teams.</li><li>Strong cross‑functional leadership experience with Product Line, Marketing, Sales, or Systems Engineering organizations.</li></ul></div></section><section class="job-section" id="st-additionalInformation"><div><p class="googlejobs-paragraph--empty"></p><h2 class="title">Additional Information</h2></div><div class="wysiwyg spl-wysiwyg" itemprop="incentives"><p>The expected annual pay range for this position is $159,000 - $195,000/yr. This position is also eligible for bonus opportunities.  Please note that the final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate. </p><p>Renesas offers a full range of elective benefits including medical, health savings account (with applicable medical plan), dental, vision, health and/or dependent care flexible spending accounts, pre-tax commuter benefits, life insurance, AD&D, and pet insurance.
