Google Ads Strategist (eCommerce – Junior/Mid)<p>Location: Australia/New Zealand (Remote)</p><p>Engagement: Full-time</p><p>Experience: 2–4+ years in Google Ads, preferably in eCommerce or agency</p><p>Hours: AEST/AEDT – 9am-5pm (Flexible)</p><p>Compensation: up to AUD $100,000/p.a. This is a role for someone who has moved past the basics — you know your way around an account, you understand the levers that drive eCommerce performance, and you're can own a portfolio of clients and be accountable for their results.</p><p>You'll work closely with our Head of Google and other strategists, with mentorship and support as you grow into the role. This isn't a siloed execution seat, you'll be client-facing, strategically involved, and a genuine contributor to how we grow our clients and our team.</p><p>This is a hands-on role perfect for someone who loves diving into data, experimenting with strategy, and finding smart ways to scale. If you're hungry to step up, take ownership, and work alongside some of the best eCommerce marketers in the world, this is the role for you. </p><p></p>What You’ll Be Doing<ul><li>Managing and optimising Google Ads campaigns across Search, Shopping, PMax, Display, Demand Gen, and Video for a portfolio of eCommerce clients</li><li>Owning day-to-day account health — budgets, pacing, performance monitoring, and proactive optimisation</li><li>Building and launching new campaigns, ad groups, and feed-based shopping structures with precision</li><li>Conducting keyword research, search term analysis, and ongoing keyword management</li><li>Developing and executing A/B tests across ad copy, bidding strategies, and audience segments</li><li>Collaborating with our visual creators to brief and align on creative assets</li><li>Preparing clear, insight-led performance reports and contributing to client-facing communications</li><li>Participating in client calls and internal strategy sessions, representing your accounts with confidence</li><li>Staying current with Google Ads platform updates, betas, and best practices — and bringing those insights back to the team</li><li>Ensuring compliance with Google Ads policies and ad approvals</li><li>Scaling campaigns based on performance data and ROI goals</li><li>Troubleshooting tracking issues and managing tag implementation</li><li>Building and maintaining product data feeds using DataFeedWatch and Google Merchant Center</li></ul><p></p>What We’re Looking For<ul><li>2–4 years of hands-on Google Ads experience in eCommerce, with at least some agency or multi-client exposure</li><li>Solid working knowledge of Search, Shopping, Video/YouTube, Demand Gen, and Performance Max — you understand how these campaign types interact and how to prioritise them</li><li>Comfortable managing accounts with meaningful ad spend — you treat a client's budget like it's your own</li><li>Strong analytical instincts — you can look at a dashboard and know what questions to ask, not just what numbers to report</li><li>Clear, confident written and verbal communication (in English) — you're comfortable corresponding with clients and holding your own on a call</li><li>Self-sufficient and proactive in a remote environment — you don't wait to be told what to look at</li><li>Collaborative by nature — you share wins, flag concerns early, and contribute to the team beyond your own portfolio</li><li>Occasional availability for meetings during US business hours (on a per client basis, only as needed)</li></ul><p></p>Nice to Have (But Not Required)<ul><li>Experience with feed platforms (e.g. DataFeedWatch)</li><li>Cross-platform paid media experience (e.g. Meta, TikTok)</li><li>Familiarity with Google Tag Manager and conversion tracking setup</li><li>Exposure to cross-channel campaigns alongside Meta or other paid platforms</li><li>Google Ads certifications (Search, Shopping, or Performance Max)</li><li>Prior experience working with US or AU-based eCommerce brands</li></ul><p></p>Why Join Right Hook Digital?<ul><li>Fully remote and flexible work environment</li><li>Work alongside a high-performing global team</li><li>Collaborate with exciting, fast-growing eCommerce brands</li><li>Culture that supports innovation, learning, and personal growth</li><li>Opportunity for bonuses and long-term engagement</li></ul><p></p><p>Sound like your kind of gig?
