This remote position focuses on analyzing client files received through Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. The attorney will determine potential relief options for clients by reviewing immigration histories and identifying second steps or case types. The role involves handling high-volume caseloads and requires a comprehensive understanding of various immigration areas. As The Associate Attorney, you will report to the Managing Immigration Attorney and collaborate with our wonderful Immigration Team of Attorneys and legal assistants.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Conduct thorough legal analysis of immigration files received via FOIA requests to identify potential relief and case options.</li> <li>Perform comprehensive screenings of client documents and histories to assess eligibility for immigration benefits or relief.</li> <li>Work in a high-volume environment, efficiently managing multiple case files and deadlines.</li> <li>Provide detailed recommendations for next steps in legal cases, ensuring a clear understanding of nuanced immigration issues.</li> <li>Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal staff to ensure accurate and timely file reviews.</li> <li>Maintain up-to-date knowledge of immigration laws and regulations across all areas of practice relevant to the firm.</li> <li>Document findings and recommendations in a clear, organized manner for internal use and client communication.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>At least 3-5 years of Immigration Law Experience</li> <li>Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex legal documents and histories.</li> <li>Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required</li> <li>Record of moving legal cases forward and an ability to manage a caseload</li> <li>Active Bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction.</li> <li>Familiarity with immigration law, including family-based petitions, asylum, removal defense, and other key areas.</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.<br><br></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Here at The United Firm, we offer medical, dental, and vision insurance.
