Each of these experiences helps students to see beyond the classroom and to see the world – and themselves – in new ways.</span></p></div><p> </p> <p><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Job Description</strong><strong>:<br></strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">A WorldStrides Higher Education Instructor is hired on a per-term basis to run online courses for experiential learning program participants. This is a seasonal, remote role, that will be contracted for courses between May 1-August 31.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">The Instructor will receive a syllabus and all course materials prior to the start of the course. The Academics team will provide detailed and timely feedback on course adjustments and timeline modifications. The Academics team is ready to assist, answer questions, and address any course concerns for the duration of the course(s).</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Participate in a short training to familiarize yourself with course content and our LMS (Schoology)</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Maintain regular communication with the students via weekly updates, and checking email/Schoology messages daily</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Grade all student work within 3 business days of submission</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Contact students with missing assignments reminding them of past due work. Contact should be made within 3 days of the assignment being past due</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Respond to any student questions within 1 day (Monday-Friday) or 3 days (if over a weekend/holiday)</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Report any student issues or concerns (academic, placement-related, program-related, etc.) to the Academics team as soon as you are made aware of any issues or concerns</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Qualifications:</strong></span></p> <p><em><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Required Qualifications:</span></em></p> <p><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Master’s Degree or higher - Applicants must be approved by our School of Record to teach undergraduate courses</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">College teaching experience</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Demonstrated interest or experience in academic support of student success initiatives</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail</span></p> <p><em><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Preferred Qualifications:</span></em></p> <p><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Experience with online course instruction and using a Learning Management System (LMS)</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Previous experience with experiential learning programming</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Spanish Proficiency</span></p><div class="content-conclusion"><p> </p> <div class="left-aligned row-content"> <div class="section-content ng-star-inserted"> <p><em>WorldStrides, a global organization, is committed to</em><em> educate and serve communities worldwide.
