POSITION TITLE: Material Manager CLASSIFICATION: Exempt POSITION OVERVIEW: ADB is a Nationwide full turnkey provider of technology infrastructure solutions including Wireline, Wireless, Technology, P&I and Engineering. ADB is seeking a Material Manager to oversee all material handling, logistics, and inventory management support of various utility construction materials and equipment within a warehouse and/or construction yard setting. This position directly oversees the material team ensuring the success of the material and inventory strategy. The ideal candidate will be customer and quality centric, have a complete buy-in to safety, with a strong work ethic, and ALL IN attitude to achieve results. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Direct manager of people including compensation management, performance, attendance, hiring, discipline, development, training, etc. * Oversees the entire material and inventory processes and standards ensuring adherence from the internal construction teams, management teams, and subcontractors * Creates and holds the team accountable to inventory KPI’s ensuring objectives are met to include; turn around rations, accurate tracking, competitive pricing, etc. * Oversees all vendor relationships and pricing; strong negotiation skills to ensure competitive pricing * Ensures material coverage for operations team ensuring loading, unloading, and delivery times are always covered * Oversees all financials related to materials and inventory including vendor payments, pricing, cost cutting initiatives and complex tracking of special projects * Influential with leadership skills to ensure production/safety expectations are always met * Has professionalism to communicate directly with customers, subs, vendors, etc. and problem solve through issues that may arise * Effective trainer of others; leads by example and ensures all company safety, performance and conduct behaviors are followed * Utilizes data analytics and reporting skills to provide complex reporting and/or real time information regarding materials and equipment * Safety is the expectation; complete buy-in and adherence to the safety culture and expectations by leading by example and actively participating in pre-task, good catch and safety assessment standards within the organization * Performs other position duties when requested SUCCESS FACTORS: * A strong belief in ZERO- Being Safe 100% of the time is the expectation * Alignment with company mission, vision, and values * A high level of customer centricity * Strong work ethic with an ALL-IN attitude * Strong attendance record * Strong team player with the ability to adapt to diverse team members * Ability to perform in a fast paced/high volume environment * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * A high level of time management, accountability, and prioritization skills * Ability to be organized, problem solve, and be solution oriented * Self-motivated, goal- oriented, and driven to accomplish department goals * Strong data tracking and analytics skills * Proficient Microsoft Office experience (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.) WORK ENVIRONMENT: * Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions like sitting, squatting, standing, walking, climbing, etc. * May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels while onsite * This is a safety sensitive position; when working on site, will be required to wear common protective of safety equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, and steel toed boots. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: * 5+ years of experience within a Material Handling/Logistics and/or Inventory position required * Previous experience managing a team required * Previous experience within utility construction required * Valid driver license with the ability to drive a company vehicle required (CDL strongly preferred) * Forklift Certification strongly preferred (ability to obtain within 90 days of hire required) * High School diploma or equivalent required ADB Companies, LLC is an equal opportunity employer.
