<p><strong>Senior Mainframe Batch Operations Engineer – JobTrac</strong></p><p><strong>BizTech Fusion is hiring for this position for one of its clients.</strong></p><p><strong>Position:</strong> Senior Mainframe Batch Operations Engineer – JobTrac</p><p> <strong>Location:</strong> 100% Remote – USA</p><p> <strong>Experience:</strong> 14+ Years</p><p> <strong>Employment Type:</strong> Contract</p><p>Position Overview</p><p>BizTech Fusion is seeking an experienced <strong>Senior Mainframe Batch Operations Engineer / Mainframe Production Control Specialist</strong> with strong expertise in <strong>JobTrac R11, mainframe batch scheduling, production control, JCL, COBOL, IMS, CICS, and z/OS operations</strong>.</p><p>The ideal candidate will have extensive experience scheduling, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing production batch workloads in enterprise mainframe environments. This role will support both <strong>legacy mainframe systems and modernization/transformation initiatives</strong>, working closely with application development, infrastructure, network, and operations teams.</p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Manage and provide technical support for <strong>Mainframe Production Control and batch operations using Computer Associates JobTrac R11</strong>.</li><li>Schedule, modify, submit, and monitor daily production mainframe jobs.</li><li>Manage nightly batch schedules and make scheduling adjustments to optimize mainframe resource utilization.</li><li>Monitor automated and manually submitted jobs and ensure critical production workloads complete within required SLAs.</li><li>Perform daily and weekly batch balancing and production control activities.</li><li>Modify and troubleshoot <strong>JCL</strong> as required by application programmers and operations teams.</li><li>Analyze batch execution issues, abends, delays, and performance problems and identify root causes.</li><li>Optimize production batch schedules and job runtimes to improve operational efficiency.</li><li>Support <strong>on-demand and immediate-execution batch job scheduling</strong>.</li><li>Provide technical support for batch failures, late critical batches, and production service restoration activities.</li><li>Work closely with mainframe developers on production issues, code reviews, testing, and application fixes.</li><li>Participate in testing and implementation of new batch processes and application releases.</li><li>Develop and maintain operational procedures, runbooks, scheduling documentation, and production support documentation.</li><li>Support application deployment activities and assist with creating and expanding application environments.</li><li>Provide technical assistance to programmers and operations personnel for mainframe-related production issues.</li><li>Participate in daily status meetings and provide production status updates to technical teams and management.</li><li>Coordinate with infrastructure, network, customer support, and application development teams to resolve production issues.</li><li>Support both <strong>legacy mainframe applications and mainframe transformation/modernization initiatives</strong>.</li></ul><p>Required Technical Skills</p><ul><li><strong>14+ years of mainframe / production control / batch operations experience</strong></li><li>Strong hands-on experience with <strong>Computer Associates JobTrac R11</strong></li><li>Mainframe batch and console operations</li><li><strong>z/OS / MVS</strong></li><li><strong>JCL</strong> development, analysis, debugging, and troubleshooting</li><li><strong>COBOL</strong> and batch/CICS COBOL</li><li><strong>VSAM</strong></li><li><strong>IMS</strong></li><li><strong>CICS</strong></li><li>TSO/ISPF</li><li>IBM utilities and z/OS programs</li><li>JobTrac for z/OS</li><li>Batch scheduling, monitoring, dependencies, and production control</li><li>On-demand/immediate batch job scheduling</li><li>Batch abend analysis and production problem resolution</li><li>Complex JCL troubleshooting</li><li><strong>REXX</strong> development, analysis, and debugging in z/OS environments</li><li>FTP, SFTP, and NFTP</li><li>Batch <strong>SFTP/FTPS</strong> processing</li><li>IMS utilities, including <strong>FileAid for IMS</strong></li><li><strong>BPXBATCH</strong> processing for remote execution</li><li>Mainframe printer assignment and administration</li><li>Working knowledge of <strong>IPPrintway</strong></li><li><strong>Informatica</strong> and batch/ETL processing</li></ul><p>Preferred Experience</p><ul><li>Experience supporting large-scale enterprise mainframe production environments.</li><li>Experience working with application development and infrastructure teams.</li><li>Experience supporting legacy system modernization or mainframe transformation projects.</li><li>Strong understanding of production control procedures, change management, and operational standards.</li><li>Experience creating operational documentation, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.</li><li>Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Experience working in SLA-driven production environments and supporting critical batch workloads.</li></ul><p>Ideal Candidate Profile</p><p>The ideal candidate should have deep hands-on experience in:</p><p><strong>JobTrac R11 | Mainframe Production Control | z/OS | MVS | JCL | COBOL | VSAM | IMS | CICS | TSO/ISPF | REXX | IBM Utilities | Batch Scheduling | Console Operations | FTP/SFTP/FTPS | BPXBATCH | FileAid for IMS | IPPrintway | Informatica</strong></p><p><strong>Interested candidates are encouraged to apply with an updated resume highlighting their JobTrac R11, mainframe batch operations, JCL, COBOL, IMS, CICS, and production control experience.</strong></p> <br><h3>Requirements</h3> null
