<div class="trix-content"> <div><strong><u><br>Description</u></strong></div><div> <br>DANE is seeking an experienced <strong>AI Subject Matter Expert (SME)</strong> to support Federal clients in leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) to drive mission outcomes. This role is ideal for a professional who combines functional, strategic, and technical fluency to help agencies identify, prioritize, and operationalize AI use cases. The AI SME will serve as a translator between emerging AI technologies and government mission needs, helping leaders navigate adoption, governance, risk, and value realization.</div><div> <strong><u><br>Responsibilities<br></u></strong><br> </div><div> <strong>AI Strategy & Federal Advisory<br></strong><br> </div><ul> <li>Advise Federal clients on enterprise AI strategy, roadmap development, and capability maturity</li> <li>Identify and prioritize mission-aligned AI use cases (e.g., automation, decision support, citizen services)</li> <li>Support development of AI investment cases, business value frameworks, and implementation plans</li> <li>Provide guidance on Responsible AI (RAI), governance, and compliance with Federal policies (e.g., OMB, NIST AI RMF)</li> </ul><div> <strong>Use Case Development & Translation<br></strong><br> </div><ul> <li>Translate agency mission challenges into AI-enabled solutions</li> <li>Collaborate with technical teams to shape solution architectures and implementation approaches</li> <li>Develop concepts of operations (CONOPS), user stories, and functional requirements</li> <li>Evaluate vendor solutions, tools, and platforms for Federal environments</li> </ul><div> <strong>AI & Data Literacy Leadership<br></strong><br> </div><ul> <li>Serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders</li> <li>Facilitate workshops, design thinking sessions, and AI ideation sessions</li> <li>Drive organizational change management and adoption strategies for AI initiatives</li> </ul><div> <strong>Delivery & Program Support<br></strong><br> </div><ul> <li>Support delivery of AI-enabled transformation programs across Federal agencies</li> <li>Coordinate across data science, engineering, and business teams</li> <li>Ensure alignment of AI solutions with IT modernization, cloud, and data strategies</li> </ul><div> <strong><u>Requirements<br></u></strong><br> </div><ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree </li> <li>8 or more years of experience </li> <li>Experience supporting Federal agencies or government programs</li> <li>Demonstrated experience in AI, advanced analytics, or automation initiatives (strategy, advisory, or implementation)</li> <li>Familiarity with Generative AI concepts (LLMs, copilots, automation tools, etc.) and their business applications</li> <li>Strong understanding of Federal operating environment, acquisition, and compliance requirements</li> <li>Ability to obtain and/or maintain a Public Trust or security clearance</li> </ul><div> <strong><u>Preferred Qualifications<br></u></strong><br> </div><ul> <li>Experience with Federal AI strategies, data strategies, or digital transformation efforts</li> <li>Prior consulting experience </li> <li>Experience supporting proposals, capture, or business development</li> <li>Knowledge of Responsible AI / AI governance frameworks</li> <li>Industry domain expertise (e.g., defense, health, civilian, financial/regulatory agencies)</li> </ul><div> <strong><u>Pay range <br></u></strong>$115 to $125 an hour</div><div><em><br>DANE LLC is an equal-opportunity employer.
