<h2>Job Description</h2> <p>We offer a competitive salary for this role, with an expected range of $101,000 – $135,000/yr. The final offer will depend on your experience, skills, and overall qualifications. General Dynamics – Bath Iron Works also provides a variety of benefits including medical & dental insurance coverage, 401(k) retirement savings plan, flexible spending accounts/HSAs, life and disability insurance, company paid holidays, paid time off (PTO), health coaching, athletic trainers, employee assistance programs and onsite health services.</p> <p> </p> <p>Responsible for evaluating and driving supplier performance at critical suppliers in the Surface Combatant Supply Base.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Remote position located near critical suppliers in Pennsylvania. >75% travel required.</strong></p> <p> </p> <p>Collaborates with supplier leadership representatives on delivery and quality performance by critically reviewing corrective actions and monitoring production progress. This will include comprehensive on-site presence at suppliers for periods of time. Position plays a key role ensuring the supply base remains robust and resilient to disruptions.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong><u>Key Responsibilities</u></strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Safety Leadership:</strong> <ul> <li>Ensures safe workplace conditions and compliance with company safety standards</li> </ul></li> <li><strong>Project Execution:</strong> <ul> <li>Developing and executing strategies to optimize supplier relationships, reduce risks, and improve on-time supplier delivery</li> <li>Monitor supplier performance, conducting regular reviews (Line of Balance tracking), and overseeing improvement plans</li> <li>Working with suppliers during new product development to ensure quality, on-time delivery, and capability readiness</li> <li>Ensuring suppliers have quality management systems that meet quality standards and include quality control plans</li> </ul></li> <li><strong>Team Collaboration and Communication:</strong> <ul> <li>Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, fostering open communication and collaboration</li> <li>Providing training and support to suppliers to enhance their capability</li> </ul></li> <li><strong>Continuous Improvement:</strong> <ul> <li><p>Identifying and addressing weaknesses in supplier processes</p></li> </ul></li> </ul> <h2>Required/Preferred Education/Training</h2> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience</li> </ul> <h2>Required/Preferred Experience</h2> <ul> <li>7-10 years’ experience in a relevant function; operations / manufacturing experience required</li> <li>Strong working knowledge and background with manufacturing and industrial processes (i.e. Machining, forging/casting, large machinery)</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to implement and mange lean manufacturing initiatives, including production flow optimization, defect reduction, and cycle time improvement</li> <li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal teams</li> <li>Knowledge of supply chain management principles including lean manufacturing, six sigma, and quality control methods</li> <li>Knowledge of ISO 9001 or equivalent Quality Management System standards</li> <li>Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address issues in supplier processes</li> <li>Must be able to possess strong planning, execution and multitasking skills and have demonstrated ability to reprioritize on the fly</li> <li>Works with the highest level of integrity, ethics and safety</li> <li>Operates under minimal direction and exercises moderate to independent judgement</li> <li>Proficiency with MS Office 365 tools</li> <li>Professional demeanor and presentation skills for frequent customer meetings and presentations</li> </ul> <p> </p>
