<h2>About JerseySTEM</h2> <p><strong>All JerseySTEM roles are pro-bono (unpaid) positions.</strong>JerseySTEM is a mission-driven professional network of pro-bono contributors dedicated to improving access to STEM education and career pathways for underserved middle school girls in New Jersey.</p> <p>Members contribute their professional skills and leverage their networks in service of the organization’s gender-equity agenda.Membership is a <strong>minimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per week </strong>and includes a $100 refundable deposit, returned after six months of active membership. K–12 educators, retirees, veterans, interns, and students are exempt from the deposit.</p> <h2>Overview</h2> <p><strong>This is a pro-bono volunteer position.</strong></p> <p> </p> <p>JerseySTEM is looking for talented professionals across our departments to commit time and energy as long-term engagement for our mission to provide STEM education to underrepresented middle school girls.</p> <p> </p> <p>The <strong>School Onboarding Specialist</strong> provides customer service support to the schools, helps the school through their onboarding and provides information and feedback to the school after the account is initiated.</p> <h2>Responsibilities</h2> <ul> <li>Manage middle schools onboarding as they begin their partnership with JerseySTEM.</li> <li>Effectively communicate with school liaisons to assist in the onboarding process</li> <li>Partner with other team members before, during and after the onboarding process to ensure effective program set-up</li> <li>Help the school process:</li> <ul> <li>The Memorandum of Understanding</li> <li>The parents flyers</li> <li>The students roster</li> </ul> <li><p>Attend virtual team meetings weekly : (Sundays 6pm-6:30pm EST)</p></li> </ul> <h2>Qualifications</h2> <ul> <li>Genuine concern about/interest in solving the STEM education gender gap</li> <li>Ability to establish and maintain connections with area schools</li> <li>Resourceful, can-do attitude</li> <li>Experience with K-12 schools as a parent, former student professionally</li> <li>Outreach experience preferred</li> <li>Comfort working in a ‘virtual organization’ with digital tools (G-Suite, Slack, Jira, salesforce)</li> <li>Would be a plus if candidate has flexible schedule to allow for day time calls with the school admins during the work week</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Time Commitment </strong></p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>3-6 Hours weekly</li> <li>6 months minimum</li> </ul>
