<h2>About JerseySTEM</h2> <p><strong>All JerseySTEM roles are pro-bono (unpaid) positions.</strong>JerseySTEM is a mission-driven professional network of pro-bono contributors dedicated to improving access to STEM education and career pathways for underserved middle school girls in New Jersey.</p> <p>Members contribute their professional skills and leverage their networks in service of the organization’s gender-equity agenda.Membership is a <strong>minimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per week </strong>and includes a $100 refundable deposit, returned after six months of active membership. K–12 educators, retirees, veterans, interns, and students are exempt from the deposit.</p> <h2>Overview</h2> <p><strong>This is a pro-bono volunteer position.</strong></p> <p> </p> <p>JerseySTEM provides free after school STEM classes to underserved middle school girls grade 5-8.</p> <p> </p> <p>The <strong>Program Delivery Coordinator</strong> makes sure the logistics of the program are running smoothly during the 10 weeks of the class. She/He is the regular contact to the Program Instructors and the School Liaison. The After school- Program Delivery Coordinator ensures that the weekly outreach programs in their area of responsibility are scheduled to run each work, have needed resources, answer questions, and troubleshoot problems. </p> <p> </p> <p>This is a virtual position that supports in-person STEM enrichment programs for middle school girls/kids and needs to be available from 3 pm-5 pm ( Wednesday or Thursday) at least one weekday over a 12 week period of time.</p> <h2>Responsibilities</h2> <ul> <li>Develop report with the School Liaison (school employee) and be their single point of contact at JerseySTEM</li> <li>Communicate on a weekly basis with the Program Instructors</li> <li>Solve issues related to:</li> <ul> <li>Uber/Transportation of the Program Instructors</li> <li>School Supplies if any</li> <li>Attendance</li> </ul> <li><p>Attend virtual team meetings weekly : (Sundays 6pm-6:30pm EST)</p></li> </ul> <h2>Qualifications</h2> <ul> <li>Genuine concern about/interest in solving the STEM education gender gap</li> <li>Ability to establish and maintain connections with school personnel</li> <li>Ability to connect/communicate relate with college students using their modes of communication: Discord, Slack, SMS</li> <li>Resourceful, can-do attitude</li> <li>Experience with K-12 schools as a parent, former student professionally</li> <li>Outreach experience preferred</li> <li>Comfort working in a ‘virtual organization’ with digital tools (G-Suite, Slack, Jira, salesforce)</li> <li>Would be a plus if candidate has flexible schedule to allow for day time calls with the school admins during the work week</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Time Commitment </strong></p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>3-6 Hours weekly</li> <li>6 months minimum</li> </ul> <p> </p>
