<h2>About JerseySTEM</h2> <p><strong>All JerseySTEM roles are pro-bono (unpaid) positions.</strong>JerseySTEM is a mission-driven professional network of pro-bono contributors dedicated to improving access to STEM education and career pathways for underserved middle school girls in New Jersey.</p> <p>Members contribute their professional skills and leverage their networks in service of the organization’s gender-equity agenda.Membership is a <strong>minimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per week </strong>and includes a $100 refundable deposit, returned after six months of active membership. K–12 educators, retirees, veterans, interns, and students are exempt from the deposit.</p> <h2>Overview</h2> <p><strong>This is a pro-bono position.</strong></p> <p> </p> <p>JerseySTEM is looking for talented professionals across our departments to commit time and energy as long-term engagement for our mission to provide STEM education to underrepresented middle school girls.</p> <p>The Vyond Animations Author will support JerseySTEM by creating engaging animated videos that communicate our mission, programs, impact, and educational content in a clear, creative, and accessible way.</p> <p> </p> <h2>Responsibilities</h2> <ul> <li>Create animated videos using Vyond for educational, institutional, and promotional purposes</li> <li>Transform scripts, concepts, or raw ideas into compelling visual storytelling</li> <li>Collaborate with Marketing, Social Media, and Program teams to align animations with campaign goals and brand voice</li> <li>Adapt animations for different audiences, including students, volunteers, donors, and partners</li> <li>Edit and revise animations based on feedback and evolving needs</li> <li>Ensure consistency with JerseySTEM’s visual identity and messaging</li> <li>Organize and maintain animation assets and templates for reuse</li> </ul> <h2>Qualifications</h2> <ul> <li>1–2 years of experience creating animations or motion-based content (professional, academic, or portfolio-based experience accepted)</li> <li>Strong proficiency with Vyond (required)</li> <li>Ability to translate abstract or educational concepts into engaging visual narratives</li> <li>Basic understanding of storytelling, pacing, and visual communication</li> <li>Strong organization skills and ability to manage multiple projects</li> <li>Comfortable collaborating in a remote, volunteer-based environment</li> <li>Familiarity with Google tools (Docs, Slides, Sheets)</li> <li>Experience with video editing or design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite) is a plus</li> <li>Diligent work ethic, creativity, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn</li> <li>Commitment 5–10 hours per week (average)</li> <li>Remote position</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>This is a pro-bono position.</strong></p>
