<h1>About the Role</h1> <p>We are looking for a Senior Java Developer with deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and a strong focus on API development, data scripting and analysis, automation testing, and performance optimization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing, deploying, and managing cloud-based applications using GCP services, driving automation, and ensuring system reliability through robust CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and alerting. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions, provide production support, and contribute to continuously improving our systems and processes.<br><br></p> <h1>What You’ll Do</h1> <p><strong>API Development and GCP Architecture</strong></p> <ul> <li>Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and services in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).</li> <li>Leverage GCP services such as Cloud Functions, Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, API Gateway, and Cloud Monitoring to architect, monitor, and optimize cloud-based applications.</li> <li>Implement best practices in API security and performance optimization to ensure high availability and reliability of services.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Data Scripting and Automation</strong></p> <ul> <li>Write and optimize data scripts for analysis and automation tasks using languages like Python, SQL, and Shell scripting.</li> <li>Implement and enhance automated testing frameworks to ensure code quality, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.</li> </ul> <p><strong>CI/CD and DevOps Collaboration</strong></p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with the DevOps team to maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines, ensuring fast, reliable delivery of code to production using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.</li> <li>Ensure continuous integration and deployment of applications with seamless version control and testing automation.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Performance Optimization and Monitoring</strong></p> <ul> <li>Conduct performance testing and optimization to maintain low-latency, high-throughput systems using tools such as JMeter.</li> <li>Build and manage effective monitoring and alerting systems using tools like Grafana or Splunk to proactively identify and resolve production issues.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Cross-functional Collaboration and Agile Participation</strong></p> <ul> <li>Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and continuously refine processes to improve delivery efficiency.</li> <li>Collaborate with product managers, QA engineers, and other developers to deliver high-quality software that meets business requirements.</li> <li>Provide production support, troubleshooting and addressing issues in real-time as part of a rotation schedule.</li> <li>Effectively communicate complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.<br><br> <h1>What You Bring</h1> <ul> <li>6+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on Java-based API development and automation.</li> <li>Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot for backend API development.</li> <li>Experience with Aspect-Oriented Programming (AOP) in Java.</li> <li>Experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform.</li> <li>Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.</li> <li>Experience with monitoring and observability tools; New Relic is preferred, but experience with Datadog is also acceptable.</li> <li>Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including Kubernetes, Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, and Artifact Registry.</li> <li>Experience with microservices architecture and serverless design patterns.</li> <li>Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Selenium, Postman).</li> <li>Proven experience working in Agile environments using methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.</li> <li>Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment to understand business requirements and translate them into production-ready systems.</li> <li><strong>Support technical evaluations of other consultants when required, </strong>contributing to the assessment of skills and alignment with project needs.</li> </ul> <p><em>Nice to have (If applies):</em></p> <ul> <li>Experience managing Auth0 tenants.</li> <li>Proficiency in Python.</li> <li>Experience with GCP Apigee.<br><br> <h1>What We Offer</h1> <ul> <li>100% remote work to provide flexibility and work-life balance.</li> <li>Company laptop and necessary equipment to perform your role effectively.</li> <li>Competitive salary and benefits package aligned with local market benchmarks.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Xebia is committed to creating an inclusive and diverse environment and is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
