We are looking for a highly skilled Software Engineer with a special interest in motion control and robotics to join our dynamic team and contribute to the development of high-quality automation products that support scientific research and medical advancements. </p><h2>Position Summary</h2><p>We are seeking a experienced Software Engineer with a strong background in computer science and extensive experience in software engineering within hardware automation and the life sciences sector. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience, at least 3-6 years of professional experience in a regulated industry, and a rigorous approach to automated testing, software verification and validation, security, and DevOps best practices. We are seeking a motivated individual with a strong desire to work on a global cutting-edge deep tech project across time zones and cultures. </p><h2>Key Responsibilities</h2><ul><li><p>Develop, test, and maintain high-quality software and firmware solutions for the life sciences industry with a focus on hardware automation and reliability.</p></li><li><p>Apply long years of experience in Test Driven Development (TDD) to ensure robust and reliable code.</p></li><li><p>Co-own the code and continuously improve code quality and design through refactoring.</p></li><li><p>Use the latest advancements in AI to increase your productivity, while making sure the resulting software is always validated and traceable.</p></li><li><p>Conduct thorough software verification and validation to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements, while staying highly agile.</p></li><li><p>Ensure software security through best practices and continuous improvement.</p></li><li><p>Apply DevOps practices to streamline development, deployment, and operations.</p></li><li><p>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement innovative features.</p></li><li><p>Ensure compliance with FDA CFR21 part 11, CE and ISO 9001 standards.</p></li><li><p>Work at pace in 2 week sprints (we are doing Scrum), but with the added quality challenge of staying compliant (Agile GAMP5 2nd Edition).</p></li><li><p>Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technological advancements. </p></li></ul><h2>Required Qualifications</h2><ul><li><p>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent professional experience.</p></li><li><p>Minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience.</p></li><li><p>Experience in the life sciences industry or a comparable high regulated industry such as medical devices or alike.</p></li><li><p>Strong experience in writing clean, idiomatic and testable code in Structured Test (ST) and Typescript</p></li><li><p>Good understanding of Object-Oriented Design and Functional Programming and how to apply them effectively.</p></li><li><p>Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD), pair programming and managing and working with CI/CD workflows - We use GitHub and Github Actions.</p></li><li><p>Understanding of software and hardware verification and validation processes.</p></li><li><p>Experience in continuous delivery using DevOps tools and methodologies.</p></li><li><p>Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, an appreciation for good UX design and a very friendly and open customer-oriented mindset.</p></li><li><p>Strong written and verbal communication skills and teamwork abilities and experience working remotely in a team formed of highly skilled and performing individuals. </p></li><li><p>Experience working with SCRUM, breaking down, slicing and estimating work, writing user stories, setting expectations and keeping commitments</p></li></ul><h2>Preferred Qualifications</h2><ul><li><p>Experience with Structured Text and how to make it testable.</p></li><li><p>Experience with Beckhoff TwinCat 3 and ADS</p></li><li><p>Experience with Debian and Beckhoff Linux</p></li><li><p>Experience with our other stack, that is Python, Vue3, RXDB, Electron and alike.</p></li></ul><h2>What We Offer</h2><ul><li><p>Competitive compensation</p></li><li><p>Opportunities for professional growth and development.</p></li><li><p>A collaborative and innovative work environment.</p></li><li><p>Work on a global meaningful project across time zones, cultures and industries.</p></li><li><p>The chance to make a meaningful impact on healthcare, scientific research and the world.</p></li><li><p>The possibility of a contract extension or becoming a permanent employee</p></li></ul><p></p><p>Marama Labs is an equal opportunity employer.</p><p>We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
