<p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Plumbing and Mechanical Estimator – Remote</strong></p> <p><strong>Experience &amp; Background</strong></p> <ul> <li>Proven experience estimating <strong>self-performed mechanical and piping scopes</strong> across multiple US Regions in industrial markets such as:</li> <ul> <li>Experienced Mechanical / Plumbing Estimator&nbsp;</li> <li>&nbsp;</li> </ul> <li>Experience supporting <strong>Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, EPC, and negotiated</strong> project delivery methods</li> </ul> <p><strong>Technical Piping Knowledge</strong></p> <ul> <li>Mechanical Piping &amp; Plumbing systems</li> <li>Understanding of pipe fabrication / field erection, weld process, pipe supports, specialties,</li> <li>Fixtures &amp; equipment and documentation requirements</li> <li>Incorporate constructability, congestion, and sequencing impacts into labor productivity</li> </ul> <p><strong>Estimating Systems &amp; Tools</strong></p> <ul> <li>Proficiency with estimating and take-off platforms such as:</li> <ul> <li>Trimble Autobid, or equivalent on-screen takeoff software</li> <li>Bluebeam</li> <li>BuildingConnected / Trade Tapp</li> </ul> <li>Ability to interpret 3D models (Navisworks, etc.) preferred</li> </ul> <p><strong>Commercial &amp; Risk Management</strong></p> <ul> <li>Strong understanding of contract structures, including:</li> <ul> <li>Lump sum</li> <li>GMP</li> <li>Unit rate and T&amp;M</li> </ul> <li>Ability to identify and quantify <strong>labor-driven risks</strong> such as:</li> <ul> <li>Productivity loss</li> <li>Staffing constraints</li> <li>Schedule compression</li> <li>Owner-driven operational restrictions</li> </ul> <li>Prepare detailed:</li> <ul> <li>Estimate narratives</li> <li>Labor assumptions and productivity basis</li> <li>Exclusions, clarifications, and contingency recommendations</li> </ul> <li>Participate in internal risk reviews and executive pricing approvals for projects occurring simultaneously in different states</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Remote Work Capability &amp; Distributed Team Collaboration</strong></p> <p><strong>&nbsp;</strong>Highly effective working in a remote or hybrid estimating environment, maintaining productivity, accuracy, and schedule adherence without direct onsite supervision</p> <ul> <li>Experienced collaborating with geographically distributed teams of estimators, operations leaders, and project stakeholders using virtual meeting platforms and shared estimating systems</li> <li>Comfortable leading or contributing to estimates across multiple regions while ensuring consistency in labor assumptions, pricing strategy, and risk posture</li> <li>Capable of supporting limited travel requirements for: <ul> <li>Site walks and constructability reviews</li> <li>Pre-bid meetings and client presentations</li> <li>Key project kickoff or risk review milestones</li> </ul> </li> <li>Travel availability aligned with monthly to quarterly needs, depending on project requirements</li> </ul> <p><strong>Leadership &amp; Collaboration</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead estimating efforts for <strong>Plumbing and Mechanical scopes</strong></li> <li>Mentor junior estimators and take-off staff</li> <li>Coordinate closely with:</li> <ul> <li>Operations and field leadership</li> <li>Project management</li> <li>Engineering and procurement</li> </ul> <li>Support preconstruction meetings, site walks, and client presentations</li> </ul> <p><strong>Safety &amp; Quality</strong></p> <ul> <li>Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements and industrial safety best practices</li> <li>Experience incorporating <strong>site-specific safety programs</strong> into labor and cost models</li> <li>Understanding of QA/QC requirements related to piping fabrication and installation</li> </ul> <p><strong>Key Attributes</strong></p> <ul> <li>Highly analytical with a strong command of labor cost drivers</li> <li>Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills</li> <li>Clear communicator capable of defending estimates internally and externally</li> <li>Comfortable operating in fast-paced, competitive environments</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p><div class="content-conclusion"><p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Join Us</strong></span><br>Mullins Mechanical ranked #243 on the 2024 ENR Top Specialty Contractors list, #48 in the Nation and #5 in the Southeast among Firms in Mechanical.
