People Systems Engineer at Nscale

Netherlands

$150k - $230k

About the Role

Nscale is building an AI-native People function. As a People Systems Engineer, you’ll build the custom tools, integrations, and AI agents that make our People platforms work as one system and help our teams support a growing global workforce.

This is a greenfield opportunity to shape how we build. You’ll have meaningful ownership of technical design, tooling, and delivery, with room to experiment with frontier AI capabilities and take promising ideas into production. Your scope includes extending Workday and Greenhouse, connecting systems, and independently developing applications and services beyond existing platforms.

Working alongside the People Systems Product Manager and Corporate Engineering partners, you’ll build agentic workflows that answer questions, complete tasks, and bring people in when judgment is needed. Trusted workforce data and permission-aware access are foundations for this work, allowing agents to act under the user’s identity and within applicable permissions, business rules, and approval requirements.

Our engineering principles are straightforward: use proven platforms where the problem is solved, build where we need something new, and make agentic workflows a core part of how we scale. Everything we deploy must be something we can support.

What You’ll Be Doing

Independently design, build, and support custom People tools, applications, and services

Develop agentic workflows and People capabilities for Nscale’s shared employee agent, taking emerging models and AI tooling from experimentation into production

Build integrations and automations across Workday, Greenhouse, and adjacent systems, connecting employee lifecycle processes around authoritative data sources

Partner with Security and Corporate Engineering on reusable access services for applications and agents, enforcing user permissions and business approval requirements, and capturing audit evidence

Make technical design and build-versus-buy decisions through shared architecture and security reviews, accounting for existing capabilities and total cost of ownership

Own delivery from design through business acceptance, release, evaluation, and ongoing support, retiring redundant tools and manual processes as capabilities mature

What You Bring

A track record of independently shipping and supporting custom applications, enterprise integrations, or automation solutions

Strong technical skills across application development, APIs, data flows, and automation tooling, with judgment about when to configure, integrate, or build

Demonstrated ability to build production-grade LLM applications and tool-using AI agents, with hands-on experience using integration protocols such as MCP to integrate agents with enterprise systems

Practical Workday expertise across integrations, security, business processes, and workforce data, supported by a working knowledge of the employee lifecycle

Ability to translate ambiguous needs into maintainable solutions, secure access patterns, and achievable delivery commitments

Clear communication with engineers, People partners, and senior stakeholders about architecture, trade-offs, total cost of ownership, and risk

Outcomes You’ll Own

Greater operational capacity through custom tooling, automation, and agent-led self-service, measured by successful task completion and reduced manual effort

Useful AI capabilities in production, with performance measured against defined success criteria, appropriate guardrails, and effective human escalation

Trusted workforce data and secure access across connected systems, with clear authority, enforced permissions, and traceable actions

Reliable services and predictable delivery, measured against published service levels, agreed dates, and measurable business impact

A simpler, supportable technology estate, with reusable capabilities, fewer redundant tools, understood operating costs, and clear ownership

What we can offer you

At Nscale, you'll find a collaborative, supportive, and innovative environment where your contributions spark real impact. We're building something extraordinary, and we want you at the core.

Highly competitive US compensation package (base + bonus + equity), with performance reviews every 12 months. 🚀

Join one of the fastest-growing AI infrastructure companies — your chance to directly shape how global AI capacity is planned and deployed. ✨

Expect a dynamic progression plan tailored to your ambitions. Grow by leading critical cross-functional initiatives and shaping capital strategy — always with our full support.

Human-First Flexibility: We treat you as humans first. 🫶🏽 Our flexible workplace trusts Nscalers to deliver, giving you the autonomy to shape your day around life's moments.

Equal Opportunities Statement

We strongly encourage applications from people of colour, the LGBTQ+ community, people with disabilities, neurodivergent people, parents, carers, and people from lower socio-economic backgrounds.

If there’s anything we can do to accommodate your specific situation, please let us know.

The responsibilities outlined in this job description are not exhaustive and are intended to provide a general overview of the position.
