Vice President, Credit Policy and Loan Performance at Onity

<p style="margin-left: 0.5in;"> </p><p>The VP, Credit Policy and Performance Management is responsible for overseeing and managing the credit risk management framework within the organization. This role ensures that residential lending initiatives and activities are developed and conducted in compliance with regulatory guidelines, industry standards, and internal risk policies. The VP will also lead the development of comprehensive loan portfolio analytics and reporting to monitor portfolio health and support strategic decision-making. This role will play a key role in formulating and implementing credit policies, overseeing credit underwriting standards, and maintaining the overall credit quality of the organization's loan portfolio.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li style="line-height: 106%;"><span>Own and maintain the Company’s credit policies, procedures and underwriting guides based on regulatory requirements, industry best practice, credit trends, market conditions and appetite and internal risk assessments. Periodically review and reevaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of established credit policies, procedures and underwriting guides updating and recommending changes as necessary</span></li><li style="line-height: 106%;"><span>Develop and implement enhancements to the underwriting guidelines and processes to maintain appropriate loan quality and mitigate credit risks while supporting business growth</span></li><li style="line-height: 106%;"><span>Review all product offerings from a credit risk standpoint, collaborating with peers to approve new offerings and ensuring the appropriate frameworks and underwriting guidelines are in place to support the new offerings</span></li><li style="line-height: 106%;"><span>Monitor loan performance and identify trends, making recommendations for adjustments to credit policy, underwriting guidelines and/or risk mitigation strategies when necessary. Report on credit trends and loan performance</span></li><li style="line-height: 106%;"><span>Design, implement, and continuously improve loan portfolio analytics and dashboard reporting to provide actionable insights to leadership with an eye to prevention and continuous monitoring of our credit policies, their effectiveness and their delivery on expected outcomes. Utilize the analytics to proactively identify risks and opportunities within the portfolio and support data-driven management guidance and decisions.</span></li><li style="line-height: 106%;"><span>Collaborate with senior leaders and departments to ensure credit decisions align with business goals and risk management strategies</span></li><li style="line-height: 106%;"><span>Foster a culture of credit risk awareness, collaboration, and continuous refinement across collaborators</span></li><li style="line-height: 106%;"><span>Maintain up to date knowledge and awareness of federal, state, and local regulations affecting the residential lending industry, ensuring that all credit activities are compliant.</span></li><li style="line-height: 106%;"><span>Support legal, compliance, and audit peers to prepare for and address regulatory exams and audits as it relates to credit policy.</span></li></ul><p> </p><p><span>Qualifications:</span></p><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li style="line-height: 106%;"><span>Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or related field; advanced degree preferred</span></li><li style="line-height: 106%;"><span>Extensive experience in credit risk management within residential lending or a related financial services environment</span></li><li style="line-height: 106%;"><span>Proven ability to develop and implement robust loan portfolio analytics, performance measurement, and reporting frameworks</span></li><li style="line-height: 106%;"><span>Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills with expertise in performance analytics development</span></li><li style="line-height: 106%;"><span>Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and with senior leadership</span></li><li style="line-height: 106%;"><span>Proven experience building or developing a credit policy function in a growing company. Demonstrated leadership in credit policy enhancements and process improvements</span></li><li style="line-height: 106%;"><span>Strong bias for initiative, self-driven progress and operating with limited guidance. An ability to conceptualize and execute on the art of the possible on aspirational growth initiatives. </span></li><li style="line-height: 106%;"><span>In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to credit risk and residential lending</span></li></ul><p> </p><p><i><strong>The salary range for this position is expected to be $200,000+ per year, depending on geographic location, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
