The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, problem-solving individual with strong technical and instructional skills, demonstrates the ability to adapt quickly to a dynamic environment, and maintains a strong sense of accountability. To succeed in this role, candidates must be business-minded within our mission focus and excel in instructional delivery that meets clients’ and learners’ high expectations.</p> <p><strong>WHAT YOU’LL DO</strong></p> <ul> <li>Deliver instructor-led training that prepares students for the (ISC)² CISSP certification and careers as Information Security Managers, Security Architects, Security Consultants, and CISOs. Responsibilities include daily instruction, assessment administration, attendance tracking, one-on-one tutoring, daily evaluation and monitoring of individual student progress, and consistent enforcement of classroom standards.</li> <li>Teach advanced security concepts across the eight CISSP domains, including:</li> <ul> <li>Security and Risk Management (governance, compliance, risk analysis, threat modeling)</li> <li>Asset Security (data classification, lifecycle management, protection controls)</li> <li>Security Architecture and Engineering (security models, cryptography, PKI, cloud security)</li> <li>Communication and Network Security (OSI/TCP-IP, VPNs, wireless security, segmentation)</li> <li>Identity and Access Management (AAA, SSO, federation, OAuth/OIDC)</li> <li>Security Assessment and Testing (vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, audits)</li> <li>Security Operations (incident response, disaster recovery, business continuity, SIEM)</li> <li>Software Development Security (SDLC integration, DevSecOps, SAST/DAST, API security)</li> </ul> <li>Facilitate hands-on lab exercises involving security assessment tools, cryptographic implementations, network security configurations, and identity management systems through the ACI Learning platform.</li> <li>Evaluate student performance using scenario-based assessments, domain-specific practice exams, and structured performance checklists.</li> <li>Provide students with relevant supplemental resources for deeper learning on security concepts, industry certifications, and best practices.</li> <li>Dedicate capacity (e.g., 10% of non-instructional time) to professional development, technical upskilling, curriculum modernization, and contributing to the product’s retrospective/evaluation cycle.</li> <li>Work closely with the instructional and curriculum development teams to provide feedback on lab effectiveness, learner pain points, and content clarity.</li> <li>Maintain and update Salesforce and/or our LMS with student grades, certification scores, attendance, and performance notes.</li> <li>Support and maintain training curricula, syllabi, lesson plans, and classroom materials, identifying areas for improvement based on delivery experience. </li> </ul> <p><strong>WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO US</strong></p> <p><strong><em>Instructional Skill Sets</em></strong></p> <ul> <li>7+ years of working in information security roles such as Security Analyst, Security Engineer, Security Architect, Security Consultant, or CISO</li> <li> 2–5 years of instructional skills teaching technical security subjects to professionals and practitioners</li> <li>Strong technical background; able to grasp and convey highly technical subject matter clearly across all eight CISSP domains</li> <li>Ability to respond clearly to live digital conversations via Zoom or in-person training environments</li> <li>Strong communication and facilitation skills</li> <li>Experience teaching adult learners in structured training environments preferred</li> </ul> <p><strong><em>Required Skill Sets</em></strong></p> <ul> <li> Technical proficiency in the following areas:</li> <ul> <li>Security governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks</li> <li>Cryptographic systems and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)</li> <li>Network security architecture and secure communication protocols</li> <li>Identity and access management (IAM) systems and federation protocols</li> <li>Security assessment and penetration testing methodologies</li> <li> Incident response, business continuity, and disaster recovery planning</li> </ul> <li>Demonstrated understanding of regulatory compliance requirements (GDPR, HIPAA, SOX, PCI-DSS) and their application to enterprise security programs</li> <li> Ability to guide learners through complex scenario-based risk assessments and security architecture design exercises</li> <li>Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining technical currency in evolving security technologies and threat landscapes</li> <li>Demonstrated fluency in utilizing Generative AI tools (e.g., Google Gemini) for instructional prep, assessment, and to model real-world professional use in the security domain</li> </ul> <p><strong><em>Preferred Skill Sets</em></strong></p> <ul> <li>Active (ISC)² CISSP certification is required</li> <li>Significant prior experience leading security programs or consulting engagements for enterprise organizations</li> <li>Experience with SIEM platforms, vulnerability management tools, and cloud security architectures</li> <li>Additional industry certifications such as:</li> <ul> <li>(ISC)² CCSP, SSCP, or CAP</li> <li>CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or CASP+</li> <li>ISACA CISM, CISA, or CRISC</li> <li>GIAC certifications (GSEC, GPEN, GCIH)</li> </ul> <li>Experience delivering competency-based or hands-on technical training programs</li> </ul> <p><strong><em>Professional Qualifications</em></strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent industry experience)</li> <li>Strong technical aptitude (Google Workspace, LMS platforms, Zoom, project management tools)</li> <li>Excellent written communication, presentation, and classroom management skills</li> <li>Strong evaluation and data management skills</li> <li>Ability to interpret and convey complex security frameworks, standards, and regulatory documentation</li> </ul> <p><strong><em>Personal Characteristics</em></strong></p> <ul> <li>You thrive in a creative, inventive, fast-paced startup environment with people who are passionate about their work and mission.</li> <li>You are data-driven, result-oriented, and a forward-looking catalyst for social change.</li> <li>You have a collaborative and flexible work style. Full-Time Benefits Eligible employees also receive 80 Wellness Hours to use for Sick, Safe, or Personal reasons and accrue Vacation at a rate of 8 hours at the beginning of every month, supporting rest, recharge, and work-life balance. Vacation accruals increase with tenure. Part-time employees are afforded time off on a prorated basis and in accordance with local requirements. </p> <p><strong>Comprehensive Medical Coverage</strong>: Benefit eligible employees can choose from multiple medical plans through Cigna or Kaiser Permanente (where available), with options to fit your needs.
