Candidate must live in the Riverside area to attend local hearings. We strive to promote from within, offering excellent career advancement opportunities for high achievers.</p><p><br/></p><p>The base salary range for this position is $120,000-$140,000 per year, plus applicable bonus. </p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Responsibilities of Associate Attorneys include</strong></p><ul><li>Communicate effectively and appropriately with team members and outside parties</li><li>Draft, review, and file legal pleadings, motions, discovery, etc., in furtherance of active litigation files</li><li>Review litigation case files and pleadings to determine appropriate action</li><li>Advocate on behalf of the client’s interests at various litigation settings</li><li>Utilize internal proprietary software to properly update and document the status of each account in the assigned inventory</li><li>Analyze and process litigation inventory reports and litigation files, as assigned by the Managing Attorney, to ensure that proper litigation workflow is being performed pursuant to the firm and client expectations</li><li>Comply with all client and firm standard operating procedures</li><li>Ability to travel to various courtrooms within the branch office footprint as required</li><li>Prepare for and represent clients at hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials, including case strategy development, drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and presenting oral arguments</li><li>Negotiate settlements with consumers and their legal representatives to resolve disputes efficiently while protecting client interests</li><li>Evaluate case merits, assess risk exposure, and provide strategic legal recommendations</li><li>Maintain compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and court procedures</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned</li></ul><p>Requirements</p><ul><li>Admitted to practice law and in good standing in <strong>California</strong></li><li>Strong organizational and time management skills</li><li>Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li><li>Highly motivated self-starter</li><li>Eagerness to learn</li><li>Ability to manage and prioritize a large caseload</li><li>Be able to communicate in a common language with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing</li><li>Be able to operate a computer, phone, or equivalent device</li><li>Be able to complete a minimum of a 40-hour flexible workweek schedule </li><li>Be able to read and comprehend position-specific documents and correspondence</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Minimum of one year of litigation/trial experience</li><li>Working knowledge of civil procedure </li><li>Debt collection experience </li><li>Prior experience in a high-volume environment</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Remote Work Requirements </strong></p><ul><li>Must have a private location within their home free from third parties and household members; and, </li><li>Must have stable internet service with a minimum speed of 5 Mbps or any broadband cable access that allows company-issued equipment to connect and operate without disruption. </li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality and data security standards</li><li>Availability during business hours</li><li>Comply with the Firm’s Remote Working Policy</li></ul><p><br/></p><p><strong>Physical Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Be able to lift five pounds or greater</li><li>Be able to sit 90% of the workday at times</li><li>Be able to bend at the waist and be mobile when needed</li><li>Be able to concentrate and use critical thinking </li></ul><p><br/></p><p>Please note that this job description is not intended to be a comprehensive listing of all activities, duties, or responsibilities required of the employee in this position.
