All work requirements are subject to change at any time based on leader discretion and/or business need. <h3> The Opportunity </h3> <p>Ally Invest is looking for an experienced Front End Software Engineer to join our Site Reliability Engineering practice. Our Site Reliability Engineering team will work side-by-side with Application Development and Infrastructure teams to ensure target availability goals are met, as well as plan and build reliability enhancements into Invest services.</p> <p> </p> <p>Site Reliability Engineers are actively involved in our software development lifecycle – working with development teams to architect for reliability, automate incident response, identify and resolve bugs, engineer solutions to technical debt, and modernize service architecture.</p> <p> </p> <p>The ideal candidate for this role will have extensive experience with either Development or Systems Operations within regulated industries (Finance, Healthcare, etc.).</p> <h3> The Work Itself </h3> <p><strong>Key Requirements</strong></p> <p><span>·<span> </span></span>Extensive Experience with one of the following core frameworks/languages:</p> <p><span>o<span> </span></span>Node/Javascript</p> <p><span>o<span> </span></span>Angular/React</p> <p><span>·<span> </span></span>Experience with Linux/Windows systems administration tasks</p> <p><span>·<span> </span></span>Experience with multiple scripting languages (Bash, Python, PowerShell, Perl, etc.)</p> <p><span>·<span> </span></span>Experience with REST APIs</p> <p><span>·<span> </span></span>Experience with Source Control Management systems (git, SVN, TFS, etc.)</p> <p><span>·<span> </span></span>Working knowledge of common data serialization formats (YAML, JSON, XML, etc.)</p> <p><span>·<span> </span></span>Working knowledge of agile/devops/sre methodologies and practices</p> <p><span>·<span> </span></span>Working knowledge of containers (Docker, OpenShift, AWS ECS, etc.)</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Desired Knowledge</strong></p> <p><span>·<span> </span></span>Understanding of monitoring and alert correlation tools (Nagios, Splunk, AppDynamics, Prometheus, Grafana, BigPanda, etc.)</p> <p><span>·<span> </span></span>Understanding of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, Gitlab, etc.)</p> <p><span>·<span> </span></span>Understanding of AWS (EC2, ECS, Lambda, RDS, ECR, etc.)</p> <p><span>·<span> </span></span>Understanding of configuration management/infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc.)</p> <h3> The Skills You Bring </h3> <p><span>·<span> </span></span>Gather client requirements and design consistent, repeatable processes for complex operations</p> <p><span>·<span> </span></span>Ability to collaborate with IT operations, development teams, and other Line of Business (LOB) partners</p> <p><span>·<span> </span></span>Detail and results oriented</p> <p><span>·<span> </span></span>Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks</p> <p><span>·<span> </span></span>Prior work experience in financial services and/or other regulated environments is a plus</p> <p>All candidates must pass credit and criminal background checks to meet Ally and FINRA requirements.</p> <h3> How We'll Have Your Back </h3> <p>Ally's compensation program offers market-competitive base pay and pay-for-performance incentives (bonuses) based on achieving personal and company goals.
