<h1><span><b><b><b>Job Description Summary</b></b></b></span></h1>Based in NSW Australia- GIS on site service technician<p></p><p></p><h1><span><b>Job Description</b></span></h1><p>At GE Vernova, we are committed to delivering safe, reliable, and innovative energy solutions that help power the world.</p><p></p><p>As part of our growing Grid Solutions service team, we are seeking an experienced Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS – B105/F35) / Air Insulated Switchgear (AIS – GL) Technician to support critical customer operations across Australia based in New South Wales on a FIFO roster.</p><p></p><p>This role is ideal for a motivated technician who brings strong technical capability, a passion for safety, and the desire to continuously develop within a global energy technology leader.</p><p></p><p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li><p>Execute GIS activities to B105 and F35 Level 4 competency standards</p></li><li><p>Perform maintenance, fault finding, repairs, inspections, and life-extension work on customer equipment</p></li><li><p>Develop capability in AIS GL314 and above through structured cross-training</p></li><li><p>Deliver high-quality on-site service while upholding GE Vernova’s safety, quality, and compliance standards</p></li><li><p>Apply technical judgment within established procedures, escalating issues when required</p></li><li><p>Support team leadership and potentially guide junior technicians</p></li><li><p>Build and maintain strong customer relationships, acting as a clear and professional technical representative of GE Vernova</p></li><li><p>Document service tasks accurately using GE digital tools and reporting systems</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Required Qualifications</b></p><ul><li><p>Recognised Electrical or Mechanical Qualification</p></li><li><p>Demonstrated experience with HV equipment, ideally GIS/AIS systems</p></li><li><p>EWP, Working at Heights, and Confined Space certifications (highly desirable)</p></li><li><p>Construction White Card</p></li><li><p>Valid driver’s licence</p></li><li><p>Competence with digital tools and basic computer applications</p></li><li><p>Understanding of CB (circuit breaker) testing principles</p></li><li><p>Strong English communication skills (verbal and written)</p></li><li><p>Ability to meet GE Vernova’s medical, fitness, and site-access requirements for FIFO operations</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Desired Characteristics</b></p><ul><li><p>Strong communication and customer-facing skills</p></li><li><p>Ability to plan, document, and execute technical tasks effectively</p></li><li><p>A collaborative mindset with the ability to support and mentor others</p></li><li><p>Commitment to GE Vernova’s values of safety, integrity, and continuous improvement</p></li><li><p>Proactive approach to problem-solving and delivering customer value</p></li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><span>As GE Vernova is a global organization, working across different time zones, and monitoring, reading and responding to contact outside normal working hours can be expected.</span></p><p></p><p></p><h1><span><b><b><b>Additional Information</b></b></b></span></h1><p><b>Relocation Assistance Provided: </b>Yes</p><p></p>#LI-Remote - This is a remote position<p></p><p></p>
