We provide tools, resources and support to enable users to reach their health goals.</p> <p>We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join the MyFitnessPal Engineering team leading our Subscription Growth squad to continue driving double-digit paid subscriber growth on top of our mission-critical payments platform.</p> <p>As a member of our MyFitnessPal Engineering team, you’ll lead a cross-functional team of backend and iOS engineers focused on outcomes over outputs, using data and experimentation to drive MFP's product strategy.</p> <p><strong>About the Team:</strong></p> <p>Our Subscription Growth team maintains critical integrations with the Apple and Android app stores and Stripe to provide a seamless paid subscriber onboarding experience. They prioritize platform stability and quality and are currently focused on building growth-driving features on top of these robust platforms.</p> <p><strong>Essential Duties:</strong></p> <p>As the Engineering Manager you’ll join a talented team, leading it to deliver significant growth on top of our mission-critical payments platforms. Your primary focus is cultivating an environment where engineers thrive and collaborate effectively with Product and Design to achieve their goals.</p> <h2><strong>What you’ll be doing:</strong> </h2> <ul> <li>Partner closely with Product and Design, leveraging a variety of qualitative and quantitative tools to explore Growth solutions across our mobile and web apps</li> <li>Work closely with the team to ensure strong technical decision-making grounded in product context, setting us up for continued success implementing new growth and monetization strategies</li> <li>Take a hands-on approach to delivery management, ensuring the backlog is healthy, maintenance and tech debt work are scheduled, and work is broken down appropriately, in a timely manner</li> <li>Coach and develop your team, investing in individuals while keeping team health top-of-mind</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Qualifications to be successful in this role:</strong> </h2> <ul> <li>4+ years experience leading engineering teams in close partnership with Product and Design, working iteratively with a deep focus on customer outcomes</li> <li>Strong analytical focus and comfort working through tricky A/B testing and data attribution challenges, ideally in a Growth domain</li> <li>Experience building highly available third-party integrations that process high-volume data, ideally in a subscription domain</li> <li>Experience leading consumer-facing development work focused on native apps using iterative, learning-focused agile methodologies</li> <li>Strong technical and product judgment: you can frame engineering investments as business outcomes and bring that perspective into cross-functional planning and roadmap discussions</li> <li>Experience developing high-trust engineering teams through mentorship and coaching: you set clear goals, context, and decision-making frameworks while empowering engineers to own technical execution and tradeoff discussions</li> <li>Knowledge of common patterns and software engineering and best practices: you’ve worked with high-traffic mobile applications and know how to build for scale, balancing speed, quality, and safety</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Prior software engineering experience focused on native Apple applications (iOS)</li> </ul> <p><strong>Values you’ll model</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Be Kind and Care</strong> — build with empathy; assume positive intent; support teammates and members.</li> <li><strong>Live Good Health</strong> — champion healthy habits and balance in how we work and what we ship.</li> <li><strong>Be Data-Inspired</strong> — ground decisions in research and data; measure what matters.</li> <li><strong>Champion Change</strong> — lean into ambiguity; iterate, learn, and improve continuously.</li> <li><strong>Leave it Better than You Found It</strong> — raise quality, clarify systems, and document as you go.</li> <li><strong>Make It Happen</strong> — bias to action; deliver impact with craft and accountability.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>The reasonably estimated salary for this role at MyFitnessPal ranges from <strong>$140,000 - $210,000</strong>. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
