We are a remote-first company, building a global team of engineers to push the boundaries of database infrastructure.</p> <p>As a <strong>Senior Engineering Manager in Cloud Engineering</strong>, you will focus on <strong>delivery enablement, team effectiveness, and engineering operations</strong>, ensuring teams can execute predictably as the organisation grows in size and complexity. This is a hands-on leadership role, working closely with Tech Leads and engineers to remove friction, improve execution, and strengthen engineering culture.</p> <p>This role is not about adding layers of management, it’s about <strong>making the system work</strong>.</p> <h2 id="tasks">Tasks</h2> <ul> <li>Own delivery execution and predictability for one or more Cloud Engineering teams</li> <li>Support Tech Leads with prioritisation, planning, and architectural alignment</li> <li>Drive engineering operations such as planning rituals, onboarding, and execution follow-up</li> <li>Own and use engineering metrics (flow efficiency, cycle time, WIP, DORA) to guide decisions</li> <li>Reduce delivery friction by addressing dependencies, bottlenecks, and operational noise</li> <li>Support incident operations, follow-ups, and continuous improvement</li> <li>Mentor engineers and Tech Leads, fostering ownership, autonomy, and accountability</li> <li>Strengthen team culture, communication, and collaboration during a phase of growth</li> <li>Act as a bridge between Engineering, Product, Customer Support, and other stakeholders</li> </ul> <h2 id="requirements">Requirements</h2> <p><strong>Must have</strong></p> <ul> <li>6+ years of experience in software engineering, with 2+ years in an engineering management role</li> <li>Strong understanding of modern software delivery and cloud-native systems</li> <li>Proven experience improving delivery predictability and team execution</li> <li>Ability to work effectively with senior engineers and Tech Leads</li> <li>Experience using metrics to guide delivery and process improvements</li> <li>Strong communication skills and a pragmatic, execution-oriented mindset</li> </ul> <p><strong>Nice to have</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience managing platform, infrastructure, or cloud engineering teams</li> <li>Familiarity with incident management and operational workflows</li> <li>Background in SaaS, developer tooling, or systems-level products</li> <li>Experience in fast-growing or post-Series A/B environments</li> </ul> <h2 id="benefits">Benefits</h2> <ul> <li>Competitive salary, equity, and benefits</li> <li>Fully remote setup with flexible working hours</li> <li>High-impact role with direct influence on delivery and team effectiveness</li> <li>Opportunity to shape engineering practices during a critical growth phase</li> <li>Close collaboration with senior technical leadership</li> </ul> <p>If you enjoy enabling teams to deliver, improving systems through clarity and structure, and leading engineers through growth and complexity, we’d love to hear from you.</p>
