<p><b>About the job:</b></p><p></p><p>We are seeking a collaborative and empathetic Manager to join the Red Hat IT Training organization. In this role, you will lead a remote, cross-functional team of IT professionals in delivering Red Hat's renowned global training and certification services. We’re seeking a people-first leader with a strong technical foundation who’s passionate about enabling teams, solving problems, and delivering thoughtful, scalable solutions.</p><p></p><p>This is an opportunity to lead with purpose, to foster a culture of psychological safety and continuous learning, and to help shape systems that impact learners around the world.</p><p></p><p><b>What you will do?</b></p><ul><li><p><span>Lead a distributed team of IT professionals, including Software Engineers, QA Engineers, Business Systems Analysts, and/or Support Technicians</span></p></li><li><p><span>Provide coaching, mentorship, and regular performance feedback to help team members grow and thrive</span></p></li><li><p><span>Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to shape roadmaps, plan releases, evaluate and leverage vendor partnerships, and negotiate vendor contracts</span></p></li><li><p><span>Align project goals with team capacity, define clear requirements, and ensure healthy delivery practices</span></p></li><li><p><span>Maintain open, proactive communication with stakeholders and senior leaders about business goals, progress, risks, and decision points</span></p></li><li><p><span>Guide the technical direction of the team’s systems, emphasizing <span>sustainable/automated</span> practices, code quality, and customer experience</span></p></li><li><p><span>Champion knowledge-sharing, documentation, and process improvement to support long-term success</span></p></li><li><p><span>Oversee IT initiatives such as system upgrades, software implementations, and infrastructure enhancements</span></p></li><li><p><span>Help define and uphold IT policies and procedures that promote secure, reliable systems</span></p></li><li><p><span>Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify and address security vulnerabilities or issues with data privacy and/or system integrity</span></p></li><li><p><span>Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, such as GDPR and PII initiatives </span></p></li><li><p><span>Stay engaged with new technologies and practices to keep our systems evolving in step with the industry</span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>What you will bring?</b></p><ul><li><p><span>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master's degree preferred</span></p></li><li><p><span>5+ years of experience as a software engineer</span></p></li><li><p><span>3+ years of experience as a people manager of a software engineering team</span></p></li><li><p><span>3+ years of experience leading Agile teams, ideally with Jira implementation experience</span></p></li><li><p><span>Experience in growing a team's operational maturity, promoting a blameless culture, and advocating for best practices in observability, automation, toil reduction, incident response, and root cause analysis</span></p></li><li><p><span>A track record of man</span><span>aging IT operations, systems, or teams; experience in training or learner-facing platforms is a bonus</span></p></li><li><p><span>Working knowledge of IT infrastructure, security standards, and modern software development practices</span></p></li><li><p><span>Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, and adapt in a dynamic environment </span></p></li><li><p><span>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to building trust and alignment both among direct reports and across diverse teams</span></p></li><li><p><span>Relevant technical certifications are a plus</span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>About Red Hat</b></p><p><a href="https://www.redhat.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><u>Red Hat</u></a><span> is the world’s leading provider of enterprise</span><a href="https://www.redhat.com/en/about/open-source" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><span> </span><u>open source</u></a><span> software solutions, using a community-powered approach to deliver high-performing Linux, cloud, container, and Kubernetes technologies.
