You will own the firm’s most important business unit, sit on the firm’s leadership team, and be responsible for delivering an exceptional client experience at every tier.</p><p><strong>What Success Looks Like (Key Outcomes)</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Operational Excellence:</strong>  The tax department runs with consistency, accountability, and quality—returns are accurate, deadlines are met, strategies are implemented, and the team doesn’t need to be managed to the clock.</li><li><strong>Team Health:</strong>  Your advisors and preparers are developed, supported, and performing well. Turnover is low. Standards are high.</li><li><strong>TAS Growth:</strong>  The advisory practice expands and deepens across the client base. The senior-most clients trust you personally.</li></ul><p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></p><p><strong>Lead, Manage & Develop the Team</strong></p><p>Directly LMA (Lead, Manage, Accountability) a team of tax advisors and preparers. You set the standard, build the culture, and make sure every person on your team has what they need to succeed. You are the reason the team gets better every year.</p><p><strong>Grow the Tax Advisory Practice</strong></p><p>Drive TAS engagements for Prime and Elite clients—proactive planning, multi-scenario tax strategy, and white-glove service delivery. You will be expected to participate in planning and executing the growth of this practice, not just maintaining it.</p><p><strong>Maintain a Strong Compliance Foundation</strong></p><p>Own the quality and consistency of the compliance practice. Reviews get done right. Deadlines are met. The team doesn’t cut corners because you don’t.</p><p><strong>Lead High-Impact Client Relationships</strong></p><p>Serve as the firm’s senior client-facing presence for complex engagements—business owners, HNW individuals, and multi-entity structures. You’ll also support and elevate the relationships being managed across your advisory and compliance teams.</p><p><strong>Training & Quality Assurance</strong></p><p>Build and maintain the systems that keep the team sharp—technical training, QA processes, and the feedback loops that catch issues before they reach clients. Client success starts with team competence.</p><p><strong>Be the Technical Authority</strong></p><p>The firm’s most senior people should be able to come to you with their hardest questions. Compliance mastery and advisory fluency are both required. You lead, teach, and still do the work.</p><p><strong>Firm Leadership</strong></p><p>You’re not just running a department—you’re a member of the firm’s leadership team, responsible for its most important business unit. Full stop.</li><li><strong>Strategic Thinker:</strong> You can zoom out from the work in front of you and contribute to where the firm is going.</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>CPA required; MS in Taxation strongly preferred</li><li>10+ years of public accounting experience with meaningful time in a leadership or review capacity</li><li>Mastery of tax strategy development.
