This role owns the SEO and content playbook, defines the future of search in an AI-driven landscape, and builds scalable systems, teams, and workflows that deliver consistent, high-quality performance. </p><p>You will oversee a team of SEO &amp; Content professionals, fostering accountability, clarity and continuous improvement while developing future leaders. In close collaboration with other departments, you will align cross-channel strategies, support complex client conversations, and help scope opportunities that grow SEO revenue and position the agency as a cutting-edge leader in home services marketing.</p><p></p><p>Position Responsibilities</p><p>Strategic Leadership &amp; Vision:</p><ul><li>Own and evolve the agency's SEO and Content Marketing playbook for the Home Services vertical, with a heavy emphasis on Search Engine Optimization (SEO)</li><li>Define the future direction of SEO, adapting to AI, zero-click search, and evolving SERPs </li><li>Ensure SEO and content strategies are tied to measurable business outcomes, including revenue growth, lead generation, and client ROI</li><li>Define and continuously refine the department's organizational structure to support scalable growth, efficiency, and clear career path progression</li><li>Identify and lead new SEO initiatives, service offerings, and testing frameworks to drive innovation and improve organic performance</li><li>Provide industry thought leadership, ensuring the team stays current with evolving SEO techniques, search engine algorithm updates, content trends, AI best practices, and emerging technologies</li></ul><p></p><p>Team Leadership &amp; Development:</p><ul><li>Lead and manage a team of managers and individual contributors, effectively addressing underperformance while developing future leaders </li><li>Build a high-performing culture rooted in accountability, clarity, ownership, and continuous improvement </li><li>Establish clear performance expectations, KPIs, and career development pathways </li><li>Oversee ongoing education and training initiatives to ensure the team remains highly skilled in modern SEO and Content Marketing practices </li><li>Participate in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding for the department, helping identify talent that supports long-term team growth</li></ul><p></p><p>Operational Excellence &amp; Resource Management:</p><ul><li>Own forecasting, resourcing, utilization, and margin performance across SEO and Content Marketing services </li><li>Define and implement capacity planning model to ensure appropriate staffing across client accounts and internal initiatives </li><li>Oversee the procurement and implementation of SEO tools and technology, identifying opportunities for AI and automation, workflow improvements, and performance tracking </li><li>Build scalable systems and workflows to support consistent, high-quality service delivery to our clients </li><li>Assign new client accounts to SEO team members based on expertise, workload, and client needs, while managing account transitions and onboarding processes </li></ul><p></p><p>Cross-Functional Collaboration:</p><ul><li>Partner with the Solutions team to ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and attribution across all service lines and campaigns </li><li>Collaborate with Paid Media, Web, Client Success, and other departments to streamline cross-functional processes, align marketing strategies, and improve execution </li><li>Ensure SEO insights inform website development, redesigns, and broader marketing initiatives </li><li>Provide input on integrating AI and automation across departments </li></ul><p></p><p>Client &amp; Revenue Support:</p><ul><li>Translate SEO performance into clear business outcomes for external stakeholders </li><li>Lead high-stakes client conversations with confidence, pushing back when necessary </li><li>Serve as the strategic advisor and escalation point for enterprise level accounts alongside Client Success Directors, as needed </li><li>Support the Sales team in scoping SEO opportunities, helping define strategy, resource requirements, and realistic performance expectations</li></ul> <ul><li>7+ years of SEO experience in a marketing agency setting </li><li>5+ years of people management experience, leading, mentoring, and developing SEO or digital marketing teams </li><li>Expert knowledge across SEO disciplines, including technical SEO, on-page optimization, local SEO, and off-page/link-building strategies </li><li>Proven ability to develop and execute SEO strategies that drive traffic, rankings, and revenue growth for client businesses </li><li>Demonstrated thought leadership in the SEO industry, with the ability to contribute strategic insights, educate clients, and represent the agency's expertise </li><li>Track record of leading experimentation and performance testing to improve SEO, content, email, and social marketing </li><li>Experience leveraging AI to improve efficiency, scale delivery, or enhance margins </li><li>Strong perspective on AI’s impact on search, including how evolving search experiences, SERP features, and generative AI will influence SEO strategy and content initiatives </li><li>Experience building scalable systems and processes from the ground up </li><li>Strong executive presence with the ability to make thoughtful decisions in a fast-paced agency environment </li><li>Ability to define strategic vision, align teams around goals, and build strong engagement and accountability </li><li>Experience with call-driven service industries preferred </li><li>Experience marketing for home service companies (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or similar verticals) strongly preferred </li></ul><p></p><p>The total compensation for this salaried exempt opportunity includes a base salary that is subject to multiple factors, including role, level, experience, and location. This role is eligible for a quarterly performance-based bonus.
