This role is ideal for engineers passionate about building scalable distributed systems, data modeling, and delivering high-performing, reliable software solutions for our award-winning educational platform.</p><p>As a core contributor to our shared services team, you will play a key role in developing and enhancing the foundational systems that power both existing and new applications.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities: </strong></p><ul><li>Make significant contributions in designing, developing, and optimizing scalable shared backend services using Java and serverless technologies.</li><li>Contribute to design and implementation of RESTful APIs and event-driven systems.</li><li>Contribute to the development of user-facing frontend components as needed.</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Architects, Product Managers, and engineering leads, to deliver impactful solutions.</li><li>Participate in code reviews, testing, and ensuring adherence to software development standards.</li><li>Participate in implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployments.</li><li>Follow software development best practices and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.</li><li>Create comprehensive documentation for the developed shared components, including usage guidelines and examples.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>5+ years of Experience in backend development with proficiency in Java and familiarity with serverless frameworks (e.g., AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Functions).</li><li>Hands-on experience with frontend technologies (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js).</li><li>Strong knowledge of object-oriented design and implementation, and RESTful API design and implementation.</li><li>Understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and data modeling.</li><li>Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and contribute to impactful solutions.</li><li>Enthusiasm for solving complex problems and contributing to impactful projects in the education technology space.</li></ul><p><strong>Nice to Have:</strong></p><ul><li>Experience with software development best practices (e.g. design patterns, test-driven development, code profiling, debugging).</li><li>Proven experience with DynamoBD and AWS serverless.</li><li>High level knowledge and experience of industry trends and technology advancements relating to distributed systems, cloud, platform as a service, and software as a service.</li><li>Hands-on experience building cloud-ready solutions based on micro services and multi-tenancy architecture.</li><li>Background in cloud technologies and frameworks such as Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud.</li><li>Experience with technologies such as message queue, SSO standard such as SAML and Open ID, authorization frameworks such as OAuth2.</li></ul><p><strong>Tii Elements:</strong></p><ul><li>Action and Ownership</li><li>Curiosity and Passion for Learning</li><li>Quality focus</li><li>Collaboration/One Team</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><p>The <strong>expected annual base salary range</strong> for this position is: <strong>PLN 246,000/year.</strong> This position is bonus eligible.</p><p><strong>Total Rewards @ Turnitin</strong><br/> Turnitin maintains a Total Rewards package that is competitive within the local job market.
