This role is essential for delivering new features, system enhancements, and seamless integrations across an established financial services platform. </p><p></p>Job ResponsibilitiesDevelopment and Engineering<ul><li>Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Ruby on Rails </li><li>Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integrations with external financial services platforms </li><li>Write clean, secure, well-structured, and thoroughly tested code following established best practices </li><li>Contribute to the ongoing enhancement, security, and modernisation of the core platform including framework upgrades </li></ul>Analysis and Problem Solving<ul><li>Analyse business and technical requirements to translate them into reliable and scalable software solutions </li><li>Investigate and resolve complex technical issues including application performance and production defects </li><li>Work independently on complex and business-critical development assignments </li></ul>Collaboration and Delivery<ul><li>Take ownership of assigned tasks to ensure high-quality solutions are delivered within agreed project timelines </li><li>Participate in the full software development lifecycle including testing, deployment, and ongoing support </li><li>Collaborate closely with Solutions Architects, developers, business analysts, and testers to achieve successful project outcomes</li></ul> <ul><li>Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience </li><li>Substantial hands-on experience developing and maintaining Ruby on Rails applications </li><li>Strong backend development expertise including application architecture and database design </li><li>Strong experience with PostgreSQL including database queries and performance optimisation </li><li>Experience designing, developing, and integrating RESTful APIs and third-party services </li><li>Understanding of secure software development practices within regulated environments</li></ul>Nice-to-Have Skills<ul><li>Experience with frontend technologies including React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS </li><li>Familiarity with Git, AWS, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Yarn, Node.js, Webpack, Vue.js, and Unix shell scripting </li><li>Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices </li><li>Previous experience in FinTech, banking, lending, loan origination, or credit management </li><li>Relevant tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology </li></ul> <ul><li>Permanent work-from-home set-up</li><li>Dayshift (Australian business hours)</li><li>Full-time job</li><li>HMO</li><li>Annual leave</li><li>Christmas Bonus equivalent to 1 month's wage (pro-rata)</li></ul>
