<h3>Your mission</h3> <p><span>War Child, an international humanitarian organization and the specialist charity for children affected by war across 15 conflict-affected countries, established local partnerships in Moldova, Romania, Hungary, and Ukraine in 2022 to address the challenges faced by children and caregivers affected by the full-scale war in Ukraine. As of 2024, War Child’s operations shifted entirely to Ukraine with the focus on child protection (CP) and mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) in implementing evidence-based interventions for the well-being of children and caregivers.</span></p><p><span>We are looking for a <strong>Project Manager</strong> to join our Ukraine Response team. In this role, you will oversee the implementation of projects addressing trauma, distress, and child protection risks in community, kindergarten, and school settings. You will ensure high-quality, donor-compliant project delivery while coordinating with local partners and the War Child team. This position is Ukraine-based, with travel expected, subject to security considerations.</span></p><span><br/><strong>What you will do: </strong><br/><br/></span><p><span><span>Project Management and Coordination</span></span><span> </span></p><ul><li><span><span>Provide direct program management by establishing key project management tools, systems and processes and effectively compile high-quality and impact-oriented narrative and financial progress reports.</span></span></li><li><span><span>Lead grant management and monitoring in coordination with finance team project implementing partners.</span></span></li><li><span><span>Ensure appropriate due diligence and risk management of the project, including risk management, financial management, safeguarding and duty of care.</span></span></li><li><span><span>Coordinate project’s implementation, monitoring and closeout.</span></span></li><li><span><span>Ensure that financial and narrative reporting to donors are completed on time to ahigh standards; </span></span></li><li><span><span>Oversee operational planning (budgets and activity planning). </span></span></li><li><span><span>Liaise with the donor on all project-related correspondence and reporting.</span></span></li></ul><p><span> </span></p><p><span><span>Capacity Building</span></span><span> </span></p><ul><li><span><span>Provide capacity building and technical assistance to project’s implementing partners.</span></span></li><li><span><span>Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about implementation progress.</span></span></li><li><span><span>Assess project performance to identify areas for improvement(s).</span></span></li><li><span><span>Ensure the implementation of and compliance with the grant management policy.</span></span></li></ul><p><span><span> Integrity, Program Quality & Compliance</span></span><span> </span></p><ul><li><span><span>Actin accordance with War Child’s core values of creativity, inspiration, impact and integrity, while ensuring these are integrated into all project activities.</span></span></li><li><span><span>Maintain an up-to-date understanding of institutional donor compliance requirements related to a project grant. </span></span></li><li><span><span>With guidance and support from relevant Technical Advisor(s), ensure that program quality standards are being met by all implementing partners.</span></span></li><li><span><span>Ensure compliance with applicable donor rules and regulations, and timely report any (potential) compliance breaches.</span></span></li></ul><p><br/></p> <h3>Your profile</h3> <ul><li><p><strong>Project/Program Planning:</strong> Skills and experience in project/program planning, delivery, monitoring, and evaluation.</p></li><li><p><strong>Budget and Grant Management:</strong> Skills in budget and grant management and donor reporting/accountability/compliance.</p></li><li><p><strong>Education:</strong> Relevant academic degree (e.g., social sciences, community development, child rights, social work, education, management).</p></li><li><p><strong>Capacity Building:</strong> Experience in capacity building of local partners.</p></li><li><p><strong>Sector Expertise:</strong> Demonstrated experience with developing and/or implementing projects/research in at least two of the following areas: Child Protection, Psychosocial Support, Education, Cash.</p></li><li><p><strong>Organization & Coordination:</strong> Excellent organizational and coordination skills with the ability to build and sustain good working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.</p></li><li><p><strong>Reporting:</strong> Ability to produce timely and high-quality project reports.</p></li><li><p><strong>Language Proficiency:</strong> Full professional proficiency in English.</p></li><li><p><strong>Financial Management:</strong> Experience in financial management including sound budgeting skills.</p></li><li><p><strong>Cultural Competence:</strong> Cultural sensitivity, tact, and diplomacy.</p></li></ul> <h3>What we offer</h3> <ul><li><strong>Location :</strong> We work with global teams with team members being based in different locations.
