<p>Burrow Global is seeking a <strong>Senior Power Generation & Infrastructure Engineer</strong> to design, scale, and optimize next-generation power architecture for frontier AI Data Centers in Texas.</p> <p>In this role, you will act as a primary technical authority managing multi-megawatt campus power chains. You will solve the escalating energy demands of high-density, GPU-accelerated computing clusters (scaling from 40 kW to over 150 kW per rack).</p> <p>Your core focus will stretch from medium/high-voltage utility interconnections down to rack-level power integration. You will ensure seamless continuous uptime through advanced microgrid design, battery storage integration, and transient load management.</p> <p><strong>Core Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>High-Density Grid & Substation Design:</strong> Architect, standardize, and scale multi-megawatt MV/HV substation layouts and distribution topologies to handle campus power requirements pushing 100 MW to 1 GW+.</li> <li><strong>Transient & Dynamic Load Management:</strong> Utilize electrical modeling software to engineer robust mitigation systems capable of absorbing immediate, extreme power spikes as massive AI clusters swing instantly between heavy training workloads and idle states.</li> <li><strong>On-Site Power Generation & Microgrids:</strong> Design and oversee the integration of on-site natural gas turbine plants, emergency diesel backup generation fleets, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to achieve instantaneous power smoothing and independent power delivery.</li> <li><strong>Rack-Scale Power Integration:</strong> Partner with hardware integration teams to optimize the critical power path down to the IT whitespace, managing three-phase load balancing, AC-to-DC rectification systems, and rack-level power distribution units (PDUs).</li> <li><strong>ERCOT & Utility Coordination:</strong> Serve as the primary regional interface with local Texas utility providers. Navigate complex ERCOT compliance frameworks, interconnection agreements, and local environmental permitting for large generation fleets.</li> <li><strong>Cross-Functional MEP Engineering:</strong> Collaborate with mechanical and thermal engineering teams to align electrical power delivery with advanced high-density liquid cooling loops, immersion tanks, and Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs).</li> <li><strong>Testing & Commissioning:</strong> Author and execute Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and complex Integrated Systems Testing (IST) protocols to validate automated transfer schemes, protective relaying, and failover sequencing under real-world simulated loads.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Education:</strong> Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a highly related technical field. A Master’s degree is a plus.</li> <li><strong>Experience:</strong> 7 to 10+ years of progressive engineering experience in large-scale mission-critical infrastructure, heavy industrial power plants, high-voltage substations, or hyperscale data centers.</li> <li><strong>Technical Power Modeling:</strong> Advanced, hands-on proficiency with power system analysis software—specifically <strong>ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or EasyPower</strong>—for load flow, short circuit, arc flash, and transient grid compliance studies.</li> <li><strong>Controls & Automation:</strong> Deep working familiarity with industrial automation protocols, PLC programming, SCADA networks, and digital substation architectures (IEC 61850).</li> <li><strong>Standards & Codes:</strong> Comprehensive knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC/NFPA 70), Standard for Emergency and Standby Power Systems (NFPA 110), IEEE 3000-series standards, and Texas environmental/air quality permitting regulations.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Professional Credentials:</strong> Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Texas (or ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months).</li> <li><strong>AI Infrastructure Familiarity:</strong> Direct experience engineering power systems tailored for high-density liquid-cooled hardware environments (e.g., NVIDIA Blackwell or custom ASIC/GPU clusters).</li> <li><strong>Local Network:</strong> Established relationships or prior project deployment experience with ERCOT and Central Texas utility frameworks.</li> <li><strong>Remote work is possible but frequent travel to the client site is required.</strong></li> </ul>
