The freelancer will work with the existing website design/frontend and internal stakeholders to deliver a reliable, secure, maintainable, and scalable backend.</p> <p data-start="1687" data-end="1917">The developer should be comfortable working independently, translating business requirements into technical solutions, integrating frontend components and third-party services, and taking ownership through deployment and handover.</p> <h3 data-section-id="164ueu3" data-start="1919" data-end="1943">Key Responsibilities</h3> <ul data-start="1945" data-end="2924"> <li data-section-id="175xuvb" data-start="1945" data-end="2001">Design and develop the website’s backend architecture.</li> <li data-section-id="5a0tjv" data-start="2002" data-end="2055">Develop and maintain APIs required by the frontend.</li> <li data-section-id="5wfvql" data-start="2056" data-end="2115">Implement database structures and backend business logic.</li> <li data-section-id="1l120bs" data-start="2116" data-end="2239">Integrate contact forms, CMS functionality, email notifications, third-party APIs, or other website services as required.</li> <li data-section-id="1pwp87o" data-start="2240" data-end="2294">Connect backend services with the existing frontend.</li> <li data-section-id="1a378hd" data-start="2295" data-end="2385">Ensure appropriate authentication, authorization, data validation, and website security.</li> <li data-section-id="1belqkn" data-start="2386" data-end="2447">Optimize backend performance, reliability, and scalability.</li> <li data-section-id="7bnbij" data-start="2448" data-end="2520">Configure development, staging, and production environments as needed.</li> <li data-section-id="1abccrv" data-start="2521" data-end="2555">Support cloud/server deployment.</li> <li data-section-id="1r3f0a7" data-start="2556" data-end="2627">Implement source control and an appropriate deployment/CI/CD process.</li> <li data-section-id="c73gxx" data-start="2628" data-end="2674">Troubleshoot backend and integration issues.</li> <li data-section-id="azxunv" data-start="2675" data-end="2727">Test APIs and backend functionality before launch.</li> <li data-section-id="1x2xi78" data-start="2728" data-end="2768">Produce clear technical documentation.</li> <li data-section-id="1colhzs" data-start="2769" data-end="2852">Complete code and credential handover to Decima International at project closure.</li> <li data-section-id="s1oatb" data-start="2853" data-end="2924">Provide post-launch support during an agreed warranty/support period.</li> </ul> <h3 data-section-id="8b3p4d" data-start="2926" data-end="2953">Required Qualifications</h3> <ul data-start="2955" data-end="3639"> <li data-section-id="1mhi9hz" data-start="2955" data-end="3017">Strong professional backend/software development experience.</li> <li data-section-id="vif84a" data-start="3018" data-end="3080">Demonstrated experience developing <strong data-start="3055" data-end="3079">REST APIs / Web APIs</strong>.</li> <li data-section-id="1rwrotf" data-start="3081" data-end="3133">Experience developing production web applications.</li> <li data-section-id="fyeklw" data-start="3134" data-end="3195">Strong understanding of databases and backend architecture.</li> <li data-section-id="3wk5k1" data-start="3196" data-end="3265">Experience integrating frontend applications with backend services.</li> <li data-section-id="1elz4ak" data-start="3266" data-end="3340">Familiarity with cloud deployment, preferably AWS, Azure, or equivalent.</li> <li data-section-id="7fo895" data-start="3341" data-end="3415">Working knowledge of Git, Docker, deployment processes, and basic CI/CD.</li> <li data-section-id="8eufud" data-start="3416" data-end="3506">Understanding of secure coding practices, performance optimization, and maintainability.</li> <li data-section-id="1e7fcn9" data-start="3507" data-end="3572">Ability to work independently against milestones and deadlines.</li> <li data-section-id="qohkcv" data-start="3573" data-end="3639">Strong English communication and technical documentation skills.</li> </ul> <p data-start="3641" data-end="3833"><strong data-start="3641" data-end="3655">Preferred:</strong> ASP.NET Core/C# or Python/Django/Flask experience; prior corporate website projects; CMS integration; experience taking a website from development through production deployment.</p> <h3 data-section-id="e1ld2x" data-start="3835" data-end="3862">Freelancer Deliverables</h3> <p data-start="3864" data-end="4146">A successful engagement should result in a fully functioning backend, completed frontend/backend integration, deployed production environment, tested APIs and forms, source-code handover, technical documentation, access/credential handover, and a defined post-launch support period.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p><div class="content-conclusion"><p>Decima International is an Equal Opportunity Employer that is committed to the safety and well-being of all.
