<p><strong><u>JOB SUMMARY</u></strong></p><p>The Lead Engineer is both a technical leader and an active contributor in an agile development pod responsible for building and scaling core features of our SaaS platform. As a Lead Engineer you’ll be creating high quality code, as well as setting engineering direction while partnering closely with internal stakeholders (such as Product and UX) to deliver high-impact customer value.</p><p>This role is ideal for someone who loves hands-on engineering but also thrives in shaping architecture, driving best practices, and helping a team operate at a high level.</p><p><strong><u>DUTIES &amp; ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS</u></strong><br></p><p><strong>Technical Leadership</strong></p><ul><li><p>Lead technical design and architecture decisions for your pod’s domain</p></li><li><p>Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with platform standards</p></li><li><p>Drive technical discovery and implementation planning</p></li></ul><p><strong>Hands-On Development</strong></p><ul><li><p>Write high-quality, production-ready code</p></li><li><p>Review pull requests and provide thoughtful, actionable feedback</p></li><li><p>Troubleshoot complex issues across the stack</p></li></ul><p><strong>Pod Leadership &amp; Collaboration</strong></p><ul><li><p>Partner with Product Management to translate business requirements into technical solutions</p></li><li><p>Help scope work, break down initiatives, and manage technical tradeoffs</p></li><li><p>Represent your pod in cross-team technical discussions</p></li><li><p>Mentor less experienced engineers within your pod</p></li></ul><p><strong>Agentic Development</strong></p><ul><li><p>Embrace agentic development practices as a core part of the software development lifecycle</p></li><li><p>Continually reevaluate the best practices of successful developers employing AI</p></li><li><p>Participate in both sides of knowledge sharing</p></li></ul><p><strong>Quality &amp; Delivery</strong></p><ul><li><p>Drive engineering best practices in your pod and beyond</p></li><li><p>Ensure predictable, high-quality delivery of features and improvements</p></li><li><p>Represent the perspective of long-term maintainability and scalability</p></li></ul><p><strong><u>COMPETENCIES</u></strong><br></p><p>Required:</p><ul><li><p>5+ years of experience using Ruby on Rails</p></li><li><p>5+ years of experience using Javascript</p></li><li><p>2+ years of experience with SQL</p></li><li><p>Experience developing Single Page Applications<br></p></li></ul><p>Nice To Have:</p><ul><li><p>Experience with AWS</p></li><li><p>Experience with React</p></li><li><p>Experience with Kubernetes</p></li><li><p>Experience with PostgreSQL</p></li><li><p>Experience with Ext.js</p></li><li><p>Experience with Python</p></li><li><p>Experience developing AI solutions (e.g. using LangChain, Amazon Bedrock)</p></li><li><p>Experience with Jenkins</p></li><li><p>Experience with CI/CD practices</p></li></ul>
