<p>Description</p><p>Gordon Feinblatt LLC is seeking an experienced attorney to join our industry-leading practice. This is a first-chair opportunity at the center of Maryland’s energy transition, representing clients in high-stakes matters <u>including</u> before the Maryland Public Service Commission on the issues defining the state’s energy and public utility future.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>The Role</strong></p><p>Maryland’s energy and public utility landscape is changing faster than at any point in a generation, and our practice sits at the forefront of that change. The attorney in this role will take a leading position on sophisticated regulatory work, including:</p><ul><li><strong>CPCN permitting</strong> for solar, battery energy storage, and fossil fuel generation projects</li><li><strong>Utility rate cases</strong> and other major contested proceedings before the Maryland Public Service Commission</li><li><strong>Regulatory and policy matters</strong>, including Commission rulemakings and legislative initiatives in Annapolis</li><li><strong>Cutting-edge issues</strong> such as interconnection, energy storage, community solar, and net energy metering</li></ul><p>This position offering substantial client contact, first-chair responsibility in contested proceedings, and a meaningful role in shaping and growing the practice. </p><p><br/></p><p>Requirements</p><p>We welcome candidates from a range of backgrounds, including private practice, government service, or in-house counsel roles. We also understand that this is an extensive list, and we are open to working with candidates who meet some, but not all, of these criteria.</p><ul><li>First-chair experience in contested regulatory, administrative, or judicial proceedings</li><li>A fast learner who is excited to be on the legal cutting edge</li><li>Enjoys working collaboratively with a growing and multidisciplinary team</li><li>Maryland barred or eligible to waive into the Maryland bar</li><li>Significant experience in energy, environment, and public utility law, ideally 6+ years</li><li>Experience appearing before the Maryland Public Service Commission; practice before FERC or other state utility commissions is also valued </li><li>No book of business required.
