This position requires strong expertise in cabinet modeling, construction methods, and design interpretation. The Drafter / Designer serves as a critical front-end contributor to HCo’s engineering and manufacturing pipeline by translating design intent into precise technical drawings that downstream engineering, machine programming, and production teams can execute without rework. This is a <strong>fully remote role</strong> requiring strong self-management, disciplined communication, and the ability to independently produce detailed, high-quality drawings while collaborating effectively with internal teams.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Core Responsibilities</strong></p><p><strong>Shop Drawing Creation (First Draw)</strong></p><ul><li>Create accurate, complete shop drawings in Cabinet Vision based on architectural drawings, specifications, and project requirements</li><li>Translate conceptual, architect-driven, or design-intent drawings into precise technical construction documents</li><li>Establish cabinet layouts, dimensions, clearances, and interfaces with adjacent trades</li><li>Ensure all components meet form, fit, and function requirements</li></ul><p> <strong>Design Interpretation & Technical Accuracy</strong></p><ul><li>Read, navigate, and interpret architectural plans, elevations, sections, finish schedules, and details</li><li>Review and adjust dimensions, materials, joinery, accessories, and hardware per company standards</li><li>Maintain accuracy and consistency across all drawings within a project</li><li>Identify gaps, conflicts, or constructability risks and communicate them clearly</li></ul><p> <strong>Collaboration & Communication (Remote)</strong></p><ul><li>Collaborate remotely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Production teams to resolve questions and clarify scope</li><li>Communicate drawing assumptions, constraints, and decisions clearly using company tools</li><li>Respond promptly to feedback while maintaining drawing clarity and standards</li></ul><p> <strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Minimum <strong>3 years of hands-on Cabinet Vision experience</strong></li><li>Proven ability to read, interpret, and navigate architectural drawings</li><li>Strong understanding of design intent, construction logic, and system integration (form, fit, and function)</li><li>High level of accuracy and attention to detail</li><li>Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Solid understanding of casework construction, materials, and commercial cabinetry standards</li></ul><p> <strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Experience in commercial casework, millwork, or architectural woodworking</li><li>Familiarity with production workflows, CNC-ready components, and shop drawing best practices</li><li>Experience with Innergy, AutoCAD, or related drafting / CAD systems</li><li>Technical training or associate degree in drafting, design, or a related field</li></ul><p> <strong>Success Profile</strong></p><p><br/></p><p>A successful Drafter / Designer (First Draw) produces clear, accurate, and build-ready drawings that reduce RFIs, minimize downstream rework, and establish a strong technical foundation for engineering and manufacturing.
