Our HGS Network schools offer students the opportunity to earn a U.S. high school diploma and prepare to enter top universities.</p></div><p>POSITION SUMMARY:</p> <p>The University Advisor provides university advising services to Hudson Global Scholars students. The ideal candidate has experience in university counseling and/or higher education recruitment. The advisor will be responsible for meeting with students and their parents, guiding the university application process, and supporting students’ post-secondary plans with a focus on entry to US and other English-speaking institutions of higher education. This position will primarily work with an international student population.</p> <p>The candidate is comfortable and experienced working with students and parents across a variety of cultures and must be passionate about supporting high school students in their journey to higher education pathways.</p> <ul> <li>· This is a contract position</li> <li>· This is a 100% remote role. Must be available to meet with international students in their time zones.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS</p> <p>The functions and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>· Manage student advising cases as assigned by the University Advising Manager</li> <li>· Develop and share expertise on the universities included in the HGS university portfolio</li> <li>· Participate in trainings and team meetings to stay updated on admissions trends and university requirements.</li> <li>· Advise and support high school students and their families in the university counseling journey, including (not limited to):</li> </ul> <p style="padding-left: 80px;">o identifying potential university and academic programs</p> <p style="padding-left: 80px;">o completing applications</p> <p style="padding-left: 80px;">o considering financial parameters</p> <p style="padding-left: 80px;">o identifying scholarship opportunities</p> <p style="padding-left: 80px;">o complying with admissions policies</p> <p style="padding-left: 80px;">o explaining student visa procedures</p> <ul> <li>· Conduct outreach to students and families including phone calls, virtual meetings, emails, and presentations.</li> <li>· Facilitate virtual group presentations and student activities to promote and engage students in the university advising program.</li> <li>· Create, maintain, and monitor records, including college admissions data, as well as enter and validate data in multiple systems.</li> <li>· Other duties as assigned</li> </ul> <p>The qualifications and skill requirements for this position include:</p> <ul> <li>· Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, school counseling, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.</li> <li>· 2+ years experience in college admissions counseling, international student recruitment, or related experience</li> <li>· Solid understanding of university admissions processes in the United States, Canada, UK, and/or Australia</li> <li>· Interpersonal skills necessary to work cooperatively and effectively with individuals and groups.</li> <li>· Data-driven with strong documentation skills</li> <li>· Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and digital communication skills.</li> <li>· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.</li> <li>· Ability to work effectively in a virtual position</li> <li>· Proficiency with technology such as Microsoft Office Suite</li> <li>· Experience using common CRM and SIS platforms, or ability to quickly learn</li> <li>· Availability to support international clients in a variety of time zones</li> <li>· Bi- or Multilingual proficiency is a plus (Spanish, Japanese, or Turkish) · Comfort using Zoom and Whatsapp messaging for student/family communications</li> </ul> <p><span data-contrast="auto">Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
