Claims are typically resolved within a 30-day period because of the volatile nature of auto theft. Investigate total theft claims by obtaining relevant loss information such as statements, police reports, and driving records as well as researching history of vehicle, past losses, lien holders, etc. Coordinate retrieval of recovered vehicles with tow yards, repair shops, and/or appropriate authorities. Set up inspection or property evaluation with appraisal department for reimbursement/repair of damage; coordinate disposition of total loss vehicles with salvage department. </p> <h2>Geo-Salary Information</h2> <p><em><strong>An in-person interview may be required during the hiring process</strong></em></p> <p> </p> <p>State specific pay scales for this role are as follows:</p> <p>$32,363 to $56,701 (NJ, NY, WA, HI, AK, MD, CT, RI, MA)</p> <p>$29,421 to $51,546 (NV, OR, AZ, CO, WY, TX, ND, MN, MO, IL, WI, FL, GA, MI, OH, VA, PA, DE, VT, NH, ME)</p> <p>$26,479 to $46,392 (UT, ID, MT, NM, SD, NE, KS, OK, IA, AR, LA, MS, AL, TN, KY, IN, SC, NC, WV)</p> <p> </p> <p>In CA: Typical hiring range is $40,078.80 to $48,985.20 </p> <p> </p> <p>The expected base salary for this position will vary depending on a number of factors, including relevant experience, skills and location.</p> <h2>Responsibilities</h2> <p><strong>Essential Job Functions:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Negotiate settlement and secure appropriate documents; issue drafts for adjusted claims as necessary.</li> <li>Close files according to Company procedures.</li> <li>Evaluate claim for subrogation potential and screen for possible coverage problems, fraudulent claims or questionable activity and recommend transfer of file to appropriate department for further investigation.</li> <li>Notify appropriate agencies/departments of theft information such as, N.I.C.B., agents, attorneys, and underwriting.</li> <li>Maintain diary of claims pending and update file information; continually review and monitor progress and expense of claims pending.</li> <li>Includes completion of the formal claims training program, which may require overnight travel for at least 1 week.</li> </ul> <h2>Qualifications</h2> <p><strong>Education:</strong></p> <p> </p> <p>Minimum:</p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree (2-year program) or equivalent formal training program or 6 - 12 months related experience</li> <li>Equivalent combination of education and experience.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Knowledge and Skills:</strong></p> <p>Minimum:</p> <ul> <li>Solid comprehension of basic principles and practices of Company policies and procedure upon completion of formal and informal training. </li> <li>Ability to build rapport, has emotional intelligence. </li> <li>Possesses effective written and verbal communication skills to professionally represent the Company in multi-channel correspondence with customers, claimants, rental companies, etc.</li> <li>Ability to muti-task in a fast-paced environment, prioritize responsibilities, and deliver accurate work products in a timely manner. </li> <li>Must be able to regularly exercise independent judgment which may have a moderate impact on the Company in areas of costs, consumer loyalty, and legal complications.</li> <li>Requires critical attention to detail for functions such as entering, verifying, comparing data and accuracy in work.</li> <li>Analytical ability necessary to interpret and evaluate relevant information essential in resolving claims.</li> <li>Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers making decisions based on policies and procedures with the support of management. </li> <li>Has a passion for serving customers in their time of need. </li> <li>Ability to build rapport, has emotional intelligence. </li> <li>Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office products (Outlook, Word, Teams) and claims related software.</li> <li>Collaborates well with others.
