In this role, you'll partner with Project Managers, Operations, and Finance to monitor project financial performance, manage job costing, and ensure accurate project reporting from project startup through completion.</p><p><br/></p><p>If you enjoy working in a fast-paced construction environment where your work directly impacts project success, we'd love to meet you.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>What We Offer</strong></p><ul><li>Competitive salary based on experience</li><li>Medical, dental, vision, and pet insurance</li><li>401(k) with up to a <strong>4% company match</strong></li><li>Health Savings Account (HSA) contributions</li><li>Company-paid life insurance, long-term disability (LTD), and Employee Assistance Program (EAP)</li><li>Up to <strong>20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO)</strong> plus <strong>7 paid holidays</strong></li><li>Career advancement opportunities within a growing national organization</li></ul><p><strong>What You'll Do</strong></p><ul><li>Maintain accurate project job cost records by reviewing accounts payable, labor, material, and subcontractor costs.</li><li>Review and code vendor invoices to the appropriate jobs, phases, and cost codes.</li><li>Prepare and analyze project cost reports to support Project Managers and Operations leaders.</li><li>Assist with Work-in-Progress WIP) reporting, project accruals, and month-end close activities.</li><li>Review and process job-cost timecards and labor allocations.</li><li>Monitor project budgets, committed costs, purchase orders, subcontract agreements, and change orders.</li><li>Partner with Project Managers to analyze budget variances, forecast project costs, and identify financial risks.</li><li>Assist with vendor payment processing, lien waivers, retainage tracking, and subcontractor compliance.</li><li>Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation for audits and financial reporting.</li><li>Collaborate with Finance and Operations to improve project financial performance and profitability.</li></ul><p><strong>This Role Is Ideal For Someone Who</strong></p><ul><li>Has experience with project accounting, job costing, or construction accounting.</li><li>Enjoys partnering with Project Managers and Operations teams.</li><li>Is analytical, organized, and highly detail-oriented.</li><li>Thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.</li><li>Wants to build a long-term career with a stable and growing organization.</li></ul><p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>3+ years of accounting experience with project accounting, job costing, or construction accounting.</li><li>Experience in commercial construction, mechanical contracting, HVAC, or a related project-based industry is strongly preferred.</li><li>Strong understanding of general accounting principles, job costing, and project financial reporting.</li><li>Experience using ERP or accounting systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.</li><li>Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.</li><li>Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.</li><li>Experience with construction accounting software such as Davisware Vision, NetSuite, Vista, Foundation, Sage, or similar ERP systems.</li><li>Experience with Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting and percentage-of-completion accounting.</li><li>Knowledge of lien waivers, retainage, subcontractor compliance, and 1099 reporting.</li><li>Experience supporting multiple companies or regional operations.</li><li>Familiarity with construction job cost structures, project forecasting, and cost code management.</li></ul><p><strong>Why Midway Mechanical Services?</strong></p><p><br/></p><p>Midway Mechanical Services is one of the nation's fastest-growing commercial mechanical contractors, providing HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and mechanical services across the western United States.
