We value people who take initiative, stay curious, and care deeply about the quality and impact of what they build.</p><p></p>The Role<p>We’re looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to join our Video Streaming Team and own key parts of the frontend video stack, including the web player, broadcaster tools, and viewer experiences for live and VOD playback.</p><p>In this role, you’ll build and optimize high-performance, user-facing features with a focus on playback quality, latency, and cross-browser reliability. Working closely with your team, you’ll tackle complex streaming challenges to deliver a seamless, real-time video experience.</p><p>You’ll also drive technical decisions, shape frontend architecture, and ensure performance at scale. Success in this role requires strong product thinking, a deep understanding of browser behavior, and the ability to debug and optimize complex systems in production.</p><p></p>What You’ll Do<ul><li>Build and improve the UI for a web video player and related frontend components</li><li>Optimize startup time, latency, and playback quality across browsers/devices</li><li>Partner with backend and infrastructure teams to diagnose and resolve streaming issues</li></ul> You Have<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent practical experience)</li><li>7+ years of experience building modern web applications</li><li>Strong expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks (React preferred)</li><li>Professional experience working with video streaming technologies (e.g., HLS, DASH, WebRTC, ABR, CDNs, or video players)</li><li>Experience building and optimizing performance-sensitive user interfaces</li><li>Experience collaborating closely with backend and infrastructure teams</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in complex, high-scale environments</li></ul><p></p>Nice to Have<ul><li>Experience working on live streaming or real-time video products</li><li>Familiarity with browser media APIs (e.g., MSE/EME)</li><li>Experience operating in high-scale, high-availability systems</li><li>Passion for improving video quality and user experience at scale</li></ul><p></p> You’ll Get<ul><li>Competitive compensation with performance bonuses</li><li>Fully remote option</li><li>Health, vision, dental, and life insurance for you and any dependents, with policy premiums covered by the company</li><li>Long- &amp; short-term disability insurance</li><li>Unlimited PTO</li><li>Annual year-end company closure</li><li>Optional 401k with 5% matching</li><li>12 paid holidays</li><li>Paid lunches in-office; if remote, a $125/week stipend via Sharebite</li><li>EAP and employee recognition programs</li></ul><p></p><p>The base salary range for this position is $180,000 - $215,000 annually. Range reflects base salary only. It does not include additional compensation or benefits. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum range for a new hire across the U.S. for the posted position.
