This role is responsible for verifying patient information, insurance eligibility, collecting co-pays and deductibles, maintaining accurate records, and supporting scheduling, billing, and medical records requests. The specialist works collaboratively with patients, physicians, and internal departments to ensure a positive patient experience and smooth office operations.</p><p>Successful candidates possess excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and confidentiality. A strong understanding of insurance verification, patient registration procedures, and payment collection is essential. Flexibility to work at multiple locations and varying shifts is required, along with a commitment to the organization's core values of respect, integrity, compassion, and excellence.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Medical Registration Specialist Detailed Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Greets and directs patients and visitors.</li><li>Demonstrates a commitment to “World Class Customer Service” and promotes a positive work environment.</li><li>Verifies patient’s appointments and time upon registration.</li><li>Verifies patient’s record is up to date and accurate. Makes appropriate changes in computer system and on patient’s records.</li><li>Works closely with billing and scheduling departments for patient insurance verification.</li><li>Collect co-pays, deductibles and inquire on previous balances.</li><li>Assists with other medical office needs, including scheduling, telephone inquiries and taking payments.</li><li>Operates a personal computer and appropriate software packages or its equivalent.</li><li>Assist in requests for medical records.</li><li>Meet productivity, quality/accuracy and collections benchmarks.</li><li>Flexible to work at multiple locations and different shifts.</li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.</li></ul><p><strong>Medical Registration Specialist Specific Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability</strong></p><ul><li>Excellent telephone skills and etiquette.</li><li>Ability to answer phone calls from patients, referring physicians and staff.</li><li>Use computer system to verify and update patient demographics. Use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach, push, pull with hands and arms, talk and hear. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25lbs.
