<p>About the Role </p><p>Talarico for Texas is building a people-powered campaign rooted in grassroots support, integrity, and the belief that politics should work for everyday Texans. James Talarico's campaign for the U.S. Senate will focus heavily on coordinating closely with local leaders and community organizations across the state who are most connected to the issues that matter to Texans.</p><p></p><p>We are seeking a full-time Central Texas Regional Political Director to lead the campaign's political and coalition engagement strategy across one of Texas's most dynamic and rapidly growing regions. Based in San Antonio, this role will oversee relationship-building with elected officials, community leaders, labor organizations, advocacy groups, faith leaders, and other key stakeholders while managing regional political programming. </p><p></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><ul><li>Lead and execute the campaign's political and coalition strategy across Central Texas</li><li>Build, maintain, and deepen relationships with elected officials, community leaders, advocacy organizations, labor partners, faith leaders, and key regional stakeholders</li><li>Identify, recruit, and cultivate endorsers, validators, and surrogate speakers throughout the region</li><li>Develop and execute political events, coalition roundtables, stakeholder briefings, community meetings, and candidate engagements</li><li>Supervise and mentor the Central Texas Political Associate while managing regional priorities and workflow;</li><li>Staff candidate meetings, political events, and surrogate engagements as needed</li><li>Prepare briefing materials, political memos, stakeholder profiles, and strategic recommendations for campaign leadership</li><li>Track political outreach, endorsements, stakeholder engagement, and follow-up using campaign databases and internal systems</li><li>Identify emerging political opportunities, partnerships, and community concerns that strengthen the campaign's presence across Central Texas</li><li>Represent the campaign at political, civic, and community events throughout the region</li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p><ul><li>3–5 years of campaign, government, labor, nonprofit, or political organizing experience</li><li>Strong knowledge of the Central Texas political landscape, including elected officials, advocacy organizations, and community leaders</li><li>Demonstrated experience building and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders</li><li>Strong management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced campaign environment</li><li>Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills</li><li>Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail</li><li>Ability to work nights and weekends as campaign needs require</li><li>Familiarity with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and political tools (e.g., NGP, VAN)</li><li>Access to reliable transportation and willingness to travel frequently throughout Central Texas</li></ul><p></p> <p>Reports to: Deputy Political Director</p><p>Location: Remote (Statewide Travel Required)</p><p>Salary: $7,000 per month</p><p>Benefits: Health care, paid time off, sick leave</p><p></p><p>Talarico for Texas is an equal opportunity employer.
