A crucial part of delivering on that promise is ensuring that the data driving our operations - especially in inventory and pricing - is clean, structured, and standardized.</p><p style="margin-left:0in;">As a <strong>Taxonomy Analyst</strong>, you will play a vital role in developing and maintaining a comprehensive, standardized taxonomy for veterinary services, procedures, and products across our organization. Your work will enhance our ability to deliver better care, enable strategic pricing initiatives, and integrate disparate systems under a unified data structure. This role will also be responsible for mapping inventory items to global inventory codes to improve procurement, analytics, and reporting.</p><p style="margin-left:0in;"><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ol start="1" type="1"><li style="margin-left:0in;"><strong>Taxonomy Development & Maintenance</strong><ul type="circle"><li>Build and maintain a standardized taxonomy for veterinary procedures, medications, services, and products across all hospitals.</li><li>Work with medical, operational, and IT stakeholders to ensure taxonomy aligns with real-world workflows and industry standards.</li></ul></li><li style="margin-left:0in;"><strong>Data Enhancement & Governance</strong><ul type="circle"><li>Identify and resolve inconsistencies in existing datasets.</li><li>Establish rules and documentation for data classification to support scalable data governance.</li></ul></li><li style="margin-left:0in;"><strong>Inventory Mapping & Standardization</strong><ul type="circle"><li>Map local inventory SKUs and naming conventions to global inventory codes.</li><li>Partner with procurement, finance, operations and PIMS teams to ensure consistency and accuracy in product categorization.</li></ul></li><li style="margin-left:0in;"><strong>Support Strategic Pricing Initiatives</strong><ul type="circle"><li>Collaborate with pricing and finance teams to align taxonomy with pricing strategies.</li><li>Enable comparative pricing analysis and margin optimization by ensuring consistent categorization of services and goods.</li></ul></li><li style="margin-left:0in;"><strong>Cross-Functional Collaboration & Implementation</strong><ul type="circle"><li>Serve as a liaison between IT, medical teams, and business operations to ensure taxonomy is implemented effectively across systems.</li><li>Provide training and documentation for internal stakeholders to support adoption and compliance.</li></ul></li></ol><p style="margin-left:0in;"><strong>Ideal Candidate Will Have:</strong></p><ul type="disc"><li style="margin-left:0in;">Background in data analysis, taxonomy, or data governance.</li><li style="margin-left:0in;">Experience in veterinary industry (preferred).</li><li style="margin-left:0in;">Strong Excel and data management skills</li><li style="margin-left:0in;">Excellent communication and project management abilities.</li><li style="margin-left:0in;">Passion for improving animal health and the veterinary care experience through better data and consistent work streams.</li></ul>
